Firstly and formostly we wanted to thank both John and Warren for capturing our perfect day. They are so accommodating, friendly and worked with us to try capture everything we wanted. John from our first meeting you put me at ease. The build up to the day, the communication was so good and answered any and all my questions.
Then the big day, John and Warren where friendly and got me really excited and made us, more importantly our guest feel happy. This says a lot about them as a team again thank you. The pictures and videos we have just watched and gone through have made us cry with happiness. You captured the day perfectly. The props you had with our guests really got everyone engaged thank you. I am so grateful we had John to capture our big day. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough. Our experience was that you get more than just a photographer. John’s presence was a great comfort, especially at the very start of the day, when the nerves were at their highest. To have John there was like having a bonus groomsman who actually knew what the hell was going on. My husband and I married back in August 2024 at The Ravenswood and without a doubt, John would be our choice every single time. Thanks to John, we have over 1000 pictures of our special day to look back on. Being able to go back and relive the day, and also see parts of the day that we did not see has been truly wonderful.
We booked John well in advance (and I'd suggest you to do the same as well!) but what was really nice was that John reached out to say that another couple had enquired and he wanted to let us know first before proceeding with them. This was a really lovely thing to do, as business is business, but we would have been gutted to have lost John as our photographer. Then, spending the next 14 months seeing the weddings he was capturing really reassured us that we were in safe hands.
On the lead up to the wedding, John touched base with us and we had our pre-wedding Zoom call. We spoke about what we wanted from the photographs, and in what order we wanted people to be photographed. Some advice, be brutal on your photograph groupings; we wanted lots of different groups of people in various photographs but we had to narrow these down, and I'm so pleased we did (thanks to John's sound knowledge and advice) otherwise we would've missed people out, which we wanted to avoid at all costs.
On the day, John mingled and SO many of our guests said to us that he was just like another guest, but with two cameras hanging round his neck! The banter, the laughter, the jokes - everything and more that we wanted from our photographer. John also took Ellie from Candidly Caught under his wing and supported her with what we wanted on the day as well; a dream duo!
Whilst on our own with John and Ellie, John guided us through different shots - a selfie at home in front of a mirror, or before a night out, is very different to having your photo professionally taken in front of guests, or in a specific location like a wedding venue. We were so grateful to John for working with us and supporting us with this.
We received our album earlier than we expected, and not one day has gone by where we have not looked at them. The quality is fantastic, and we are already planning on what photos are being printed and put up around our home.
We will be forever grateful to John, thank you John x
