The gardens are the best part of the castle.

This is a great place to visit. Gardens are lovely. Has cafe and small shop. We took our dog as they are 🐕 friendly for gardens only not castle.

Good day out. Gardens were a little messy not as well kept as the price to enter would suggest. However peaceful as it was really quiet when we visited. The castle is not always open so you will have to plan a visit if you wish to view the internals of the building. The ponds and wooded walkways are very nice to walk round and clear pathways around the majority of it for buggy access.

A wonderful experience, beautiful grounds with themed gardens, excellent tour of castle and fascinating science centre. Good value restaurant at castle. Well worth the entrance fees.

A hidden gem in a fairly remote part of the UK. A bit expensive to get to the castle, but well worth a visit.

Zamek i ogrody warte zobaczenia. Zwiedzanie wnętrza tylko z przewodnikiem o wyznaczonej godzinie. Koszt 2,5£. W pobliżu jest kafejka, można zjeść zupę dnia i napić się czegoś ciepłego.

The castle & garden is great place to visit. The entrance fee was reasonable (£6 pp) but the castle inside is not very nice and interesting. Doesn't look like a castle anymore as there is a lot of classrooms. But the outdoors are amazing

Very beautiful grounds and gardens. Such a shame that the castle isn't really open to the public. You can only see the inside on very early set tours, IF you get there early enough otherwise you're just turned away. You have to be there atleast an hour early before the start of the tour! Most uninviting now that its a University. They could at the very least make one tower or part thereof accessible to the visitors.
We also didn't see any deer as advertised. We seached the large grounds for any animals but only found an empty animal-habitat, and one peacock. Strange, since it was a lovely sunny day with very few visitors to the gardens.
WARNING!! The Glutenfree items in the Tearoom are NOT GLUTENFREE, or at the very least highly contaminated!!! There were also NO options whatsoever for the Lactose-intolerant (milk-allergy) Not even any creme-free icecreams, Soy or waterbase ice! The staff was very unhelpful and seemed completely ignorant regarding food allergy's alltogether!! For a University there were no intelligent people to be found on the premisis! Service was very disappointing!
However the Gardens are well kept and the Rose Gardens were gorgeous!!!

Was a lovely day out. Went for the Easter hunt, lots of activities. Worst thing of the whole day was the wait in the cafe there, over an hour to get a cup of tea!!
