This place is like a hidden gem. The grounds are so fun to explore in and the castle tour was quite fun. Our guide was very friendly and fun and provided lots of great information about the architecture and history. Admission is not expensive and we spent hours here. The little cafe on site is cute and has good prices. Definitely recommend

Brilliant place. Low price. The science centre is great for kids with over a 100 well presented experiments for the young ones.

A stunning structure set among vast well manicured gardens. A must visit feature of East Sussex or for anyone interested in '1066' history. There's a small coffee shop offering freshly made sandwiches, teas, ice cream and cakes. A lovely day visit.

Beautiful castle, especially from outside. The massive structure and the moat around it give to this building a really magic, fairy tale aura. Ideal for great outdoor pictures. Inside there's no much to see really but you can always attend the various wedding events that are often scheduled.

We had such a good time. It's a beautiful place with such an interesting history as well. We had the tour and it was quite fun! The place is alive because it's a campus. The gardens are also pretty and there are peacocks. Free parking. There's a tea house and shop and an interpretation centre. Up the hill there's a astronomy observatory. The village is also quite pretty.

As is so often the case, you visit far-flung places but often don't get around to visiting those interesting places that are nearby, right on your doorstep. Living just a few miles from this historic place, we decided it was time we paid a visit. We certainly weren't disappointed. What a beautiful place - from the stunning, moated exterior to the amazing gardens and the breathtaking interior. We'll definitely be back in the summertime.

Très beau château en brique. Le jardin extérieur est particulièrement bien organisé avec toutes ses fleurs. On ne visite pas l'intérieur du château.

A great family-day out for anybody. Seems to be a bit out of the time though. Had afternoon tea, was presented badly and tasted poor. Heard the manager, who I was later told is named ‘Adrian’ having a go at the staff very publicly, came across very obnoxious and arrogant. The girls seemed very upset after he left. I feel bad for the people that have to work for him! He created a bad atmosphere and ruined the experience for me and my partner.

Very well kept quality castle and grounds, beautiful gardens and nice paths to walk around. There are paths that go deep into the forest grounds that have their own attractions. Especially liked the tree that survived the lightning strike.<br>Good for photographs, especially on a clear day
