Lots of work to bring it back to its former glory but still having mainly tribute band concerts during summer period as well as 1812 concert on Wednesday with firework finale.

Eastbourne Bandstand is a gem on the Sussex coast — a striking seafront venue that blends historic charm with vibrant musical life. Built in 1935, its distinctive blue domed roof and art deco design make it one of the most recognisable landmarks in Eastbourne, and it remains a focal point for live entertainment throughout the year.

The Bandstand hosts an impressive variety of events, from traditional brass bands and tribute acts to themed nights and fireworks concerts. Whether you're into swing, classical, or Queen, there's likely a performance for you. The sound quality is surprisingly good given the open-air setting, and the tiered seating ensures a decent view for most audience members. It’s particularly magical on warm summer evenings, when the music mingles with the sea breeze.

Staff are friendly and well-organised, and ticket prices are reasonable, making it an accessible evening out. The location is ideal too — just a short walk from Eastbourne Pier, with ample nearby parking and local amenities.

That said, the weather can be unpredictable, and while the covered seating offers some protection, dressing for the elements is wise. Also, during busier events, the seating can feel a bit cramped.

Overall, Eastbourne Bandstand offers a wonderful blend of nostalgia, community spirit, and first-rate entertainment — a must-visit for music lovers or anyone looking for a quintessentially British seaside experience.

What a great evening. Pure Queen was the tribute band, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be even better when the bandstand is full refurbished

Been here many times and it was very good I last went to see an Ed sheeran tribute the only negative thing is that you are not allowed to take your own drink in and to buy one was well over priced apart from that it was great

An enjoyable evening of dancing and singing along to The Take That Experience at The Bandstand. Will look at booking more concerts, but will wait until summer comes around next year when weather should be warmer and dry.

Eastbourne Bandstand is situated on the seafront between the Pier and Wish Tower and just a short walk from town centre . They have tribute bands performing at weekends during the Summer in the evenings and during the day often a Silver or Brass Band. It is in the process of modernisation which phase 1 has been completed . It can get very cold in an evening so need to wrap out and nowhere to shelter if it rains . Prices are reasonable and they do a membership card which lasts for 3 years which gives you a reduction on ticket price and drinks and shows can be pre- booked which you get early bird reduction in you can buy on the night if tickets available . Seats are not reserved just bookable so need to get there early to get a decent seat , doors open at 7 and shows start at 8 , bags are searched as you enter. A great place to see shows / tribute acts at a good price
