Located on the seafront this lovely pub is dog friendly and has great food. The menu is vast and ranges from the very best lamb shanks and steaks to a good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. On the first night we had the vegetarian sharing platter and on the second night we hoped to try the vegan platter but with the England v Sweden match being on we couldn’t get a table . The food was excellent and perfectly prepared and served.<br>If you are lucky you might even catch some of the great live music there from time to time. Great staff too and they fussed and looked after our dog really well.

Me and my family visit the South a lot and this pub is smashing, great service, great food and they know how to pull a pint. It’s always busy and everyone seems to be having a great time. They welcome our dog each time too which is amazing. I love this place!!

Have visited this pub a number of times and always delighted with the friendly service. Bar staff very welcoming and treated me like a local from the off. The food is delicious and plentiful. Added bonus of vegan options! Great venue to chat over a drink, a family meal, dance to a band or watch sport. Highly recommend.

this place is friendly, clean and the food is fantastic bar food, we had cheese covered nachos, crisps and loads of beer, the staff are friendly and the land lady is a bit of a looker !! Seriously, visit this place, sit in, at the front or the rear garden, well worth popping in.

Visited 3 times during our short stay in Eastbourne. The food could not be faulted, it was very good, the guy who took our orders was a professional we were very happy with the service he gave. The girls behind the bar however were all aloof, we sort of felt bad having to make orders, perhaps if we had been locals and not tourists we would have fared better. It's definately worth coming for the food, just pay no mind to the girls behind the bar, enjoy everything else the pub has to offer.

The bar staff didn't know what a bar tariff was when I asked and the manager said that she had one somewhere but wasn't sure if it was the correct prices! I thought it was a legal requirement to display one where all customers can see??

We went to the crown and anchor for dinner on a hot summers evening. It was very busy but the staff still did table service and look after us well. The food tasted nice and came from the kitchen quickly. We will go back .

We spent the day at the tennis in Eastbourne and were ready for a good meal.
We ate at Crown & Anchor on Sunday, 24th. We had a roast dinner & a veggie meal, butternut squash moussaka. Both meals were delicious. So impressed we returned on the Monday where I had the veggie moussaka, because my husband had recommended it and he had the home made pepper quiche. Both meals were fab. We then shared a home-made apple crumble & custard. Lovely, tasty, home cooked food.

Me and the missus stayd at the Shoreview hotel next to the pub.. we had a couple of beers in the town and went back to the hotel for a beer... the hotel bar was SHUT.so we went to the Crown and Anchor and had a pint in there and im glad we did ..its fantastic..

We went here because it said it was "dog friendly". We hadn't even sat down before one of the guys came with a bowl of fresh water and two biscuits for our dog. it appeared a little quiet only 3 other customers already in and eating but over the next hour it became quite full. The food, starting with a sharing platter. 6 different items plus a large roll. We then had our mains and if it hadn't already been ordered we could have easily gone on to dessert. The quality and quantity were excellent and the price very affordable. Very friendly staff a nice "mediterranean style" view through the window.
