Great service. Delicious food presented thoughtfully. Good quality real ales. Nice draught lemonade. Nothing was too much trouble for all the helpful staff. Meals were good value and good sized portions, cheerfully and proudly brought to the table

Excellent quality food, no attempts to be fancy gastro and brilliant service. Atmosphere lively and friendly, dog very happy and food reasonably priced. Glass of house white did seem pricey tho

stayed at a nearby hotel for 2 nights and ate at the pub both nights. It was a busy weekend due to airshow but managed to get a table both nights.
Had great food and there were many specials and hard to choose from.
Staff are really friendly and there were a lot of them so no need to queue too long. They bought drinks from downstairs when sitting upstairs.
Good location and atmosphere with live music.
Would definitely visit again

During the Air Show, by chance, we visited this Pub/Res. We were most impressed with the friendly staff and the service we received at such a busy time and returned later to enjoy a meal.
The Owner was very attentive and made the time to ensure that her clientele were comfortable.

We had an evening meal in this pub whilst staying in Eastbourne for the Air Show. The staff were very efficient, professional and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the homemade lasagne which was the best I have ever had when eating out. (It even came close to my sister's home made lasagne which takes some beating!!!)
Would certainly return to this pub when next in Eastbourne.

great location right next to shore view hotel and just off the seafront. my wife and i had a sunday roast each (serve from 12-9 in the evening) i had pork, my wife beef, both with all the trimmings. excellent value for money and very good quality as well, nothing frozen all home cooked.
it can get busy but there is another bar upstairs and also a balcony with seaviews from both.

Mrs Too and I walked along the beachfront to the Crown and Anchor in Eastbourne at lunchtime. The entry to this busy pub is very welcoming, with three or four tables for seafront eating/quaffing while enjoying people watching. The tap room has a vibrant ambience, and the bar is set up efficiently. The walls are decorated with little placcards expressing quaint notions such as "Beauty Is In the Eyes of the Beerholder" and "Experience Is the Name We Give To Our Mistakes". We opted for the rear party deck as somewhat quieter on a Sunday afternoon. The little patio is cozy, but the views are pretty punk from back there.
She was in the mood for a half pint, so I went to the bar to see what was available. The most agreeable barman made a suggestion and drew me a couple of inches to offer her. She liked it so well that she got her half, and Ben asked for a snake bite drawn from the same tap. Both of us were quite pleased.
Even though it was lunchtime, we ordered the roast beef Sunday dinner. We are pretty persnickety beefeaters, so perhaps it was just good luck, but we certainly did not experience any of the shortcomings voiced by other reviewers. In the U.S., roast beef most often refers to meat around the ribs in the loin. In the U.K., we find it is usually top round, and in the case of Crown and Anchor the meat was superb. Now roast beef is hardly going to be considered haute cuisine, but it is not all that easy to get it just right, which ours was. The Yorkshire pudding was enormous and piping. The accompaniments were well done. We can’t think of any way our meals could have been improved upon.

Had their Boston Burger. Fabulous. The side salad was amazing, the chips cooked perfectly and the burger itself really good.

I sat right on the seafront watching the passing parade and enjoying a mediterranean platter which was amazing. So much food, great value for money and the biggest olives I have ever seen !

The food was just fantastic! Well worth the wait. Plenty of room, however upstairs was booked (was during the World Cup) and the back/pool room is not very attractive. Very good service and excellent choice of ales. Kids menu also available. Just on the Eastbourne seafront.

We went to the pub 3 times in 24 hours...! All for different reasons but we were pleasantly surprised every time. The first was to grab a drink before we got ready to go out for dinner. The service was quick and friendly and there were a couple of pool tables in the back which we utilised! The second time was for an after dinner tipple and, again, the service was speedy and there was a brilliant atmosphere with a live singer. We sat outside and had a lovely evening! Finally we went for breakfast and the food quality was excellent. An all-round nice pub with lovely staff and buzzing atmosphere.

We went here for Sunday lunch based on Trip Advisor recommendations, and I have to admit to being a bit disappointed. We tried the roast beef which, I suspect, a cheap cut. The meat in between the large quantities of connective tissue was tender, but the whole was too chewy to enjoy. One of us had the roast half chicken (and we are talking about a full sized chicken - huge). The leg was excellent but the breast was dry. The homemade Yorkshire pud had been microwaved and the roast potatoes were a bit hard. However, the veggies were excellent - broccoli, creamed leeks, roast parsnip, buttered swede mash, and more besides. The service was also very good, as were the facilities. Surprisingly quiet for a Sunday lunchtime.

The staff were lovely and courteous. We got served straight away, and the food was all homemade and large portions! We have now been to two different Crown and Anchors and both have been very good and friendly! Would definitely recommend.

The crown and anchor has recently had a refurb so went in to try it out and wasn't disappointed.

The food was great and the portions are big great value for money.

Only downside was the lager was a bit expensive.

We met friends here as a social gathering before a long weekend of sport activity, and most of us ate as well - the meals were well priced, and well delivered, and again so at the end of a busy weekend when some of us headed back for more food and some beer.
Those that drink tell me the beers on offer were well served and from a good choice as well.
