Staff rushed off their feet so not a place to be if you are in a hurry but they are all charming and cheerful. Only one small lift so heaven help you if you are higher than first floor and unable to climb steep stairs. Superb location on the seafront and close to everything. We had a sea view room and it was a delight to just sit, especially in the evenings. The food was very good and fairly priced. We were forced to just slow down and enjoy...just what holidays are about.

My God-daughter and I were planning a mini-break, and we read the reviews for
the Burlington, which was varied to say the least!

We rang the Burlington to ask a couple of questions, and the receptionist was
so helpful and charming that we decided that we would stay there.

We found out that the person we spoke to was Karn, and during our stay she
was so helpful, and kind, and made us feel very welcome.

We had a superior sea view, and what a view! it was a magnificent view, and
the room was very clean, the bathroom was clean, and we were very pleased
to have found such a gem in Eastbourne.

We went to sleep with the windows open, listening to the sounds of the waves
what an. amazing soundtrack to fall asleep to!!

Karn and Ivone, the reception staff were both wonderful people, and did every thing they could to make our stay memorable.

I would say ignore the negative reviews, and try the place for yourself.

This was my first time in Eastbourne, and I would return to the Burlington
as I enjoyed our visit very much.

The weather was lovely & we walked in to ask about staying last minute for two nights.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed, Daisy my doggy too.
We had a large room with en-suite over looking the sea.
The hotel was having some refurbishment in progress but it didn’t hinder our stay. The young barman was friendly and helpful and the young waitress was so sweet serving us our breakfast in the bar area due to having Daisy with us.
Daisy felt like a little celebrity as many of the older residents fell in love with her and think she made there day by saying hello.
All in all a lovely stay, weather was a bonus but would not hesitate to recommend based on our experience.
Thank you

yes the hotel needs refurbishment abd its being done, but our room was very comfortable and very very clean , nice big tv bed very comfortable, breakfast was self service but excellent , Tracey the housekeeping manager treated us like royalty , can't wait to go back plus there is car parking and you can walk to the shop's ,and its right on the sea front ,a stroll out on the pier is a must .

Lovely hotel. Rooms are big and comfortable. Bathrooms are very big, could do with a few additions to make it feel more homely but are clean and functional.
Breakfasts are tasty and appeal to every tastes.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Cannot fault it.

Old victoriana building that could do with a little maintenance. Sash windows broken in room. Thought it was a little expensive for a night as no food in price.

When we booked we requested a sea view. Unfortunately we did not get a sea view and were told they were fully booked up..so we had an awful view of an outside stair well. The room was spacious and clean though. We had to ask for towels as we were only given tiny hand towels, but this was rectified quickly. The window only opened slightly and we were boiling hot all night.
The hotel overall was clean and we had a good weekend break away

Stayed here on a Shearings coach tour. I had a single room which was o.k. but the bathroom was tiny, had to sidestep so I could close the door. However it was very clean. The towels were really fluffy and it was a bath sheet rather than a bath towel. The only criticism I have of the room was the amount I had to pay for a single supplement (over £100)!
The food was average but palatable and was served promptly. The only fault was I asked for a fruit juice for starters as I didn’t like any of what was offered and was told fruit juice was only available at breakfast!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The remarks that were made that half the hotel had been knocked down were untrue as it was the hotel next door that had burned down two years ago. I do feel people should get their facts right before commenting. Alright the place does need a little tlc but in the present circumstances and the fact it has changed hands probably has not helped but it would not deter me from staying again

We went self drive with Shearings for a 5 days break. Don't be put off by some reviews we had a really nice time. The bedrooms were nice and clean and beds really comfy. Breakfast and evening meals were very good nice choice. Couldn't fault the staff they were all very friendly so all in all we had a lovely holiday, how some people can write such bad reviews I don't know, would advise you to see for yourself.
