Pleasant and offered the basics. Location was fantastic, on the seafront and next to the pier and restaurants.
Great staff, really friendly and attentative
Rooms were really basic and in need of upgrade, carpets were dirty and the shower drain was blocked.

The whole hotel feels old, outdated and in need of renovation.

Ok, good bits first.
The staff are exceptional, very helpful, always have a smile on their faces and you can see they genuinely enjoy working at The Burlington. If they don't, they cover it up well 🤣.

I went half board. Although the breakfast was a bit sparce and not much variety compared to places like Premier Inn, non the less, it was tasty and hot, and you could go up for 2nds. The evening meal was a set menu. There was a good variety of options and the food was excellent. I found it very tasty and wholesome, and it was a decent plate size too.

Location is superb, you could literally throw a stone and it would land on the beach. Plenty of shops and places to eat within a 5 min walk.

Dog friendly, which works brilliantly for me because I love to take my little travelling buddy wherever I go.

The not so great bits......

The owner is obviously happy to let this once grand hotel fall to ruin. The saying "you can't polish a turd" comes to mind. You can't put pretty pictures up and introduce new furniture to areas of the hotel, including the rooms without actually decorating first!?

My room was in desperate need of an overhaul. No fancy pictures or new "basic" furniture is going to excuse the fact that the bathroom was still living in the 1980s with the original limescale by the looks of things.

The was wallpaper desperately trying to get away from the wall, the bed was as comfy as a z bed your Nan used to have. The carpet was looking sorry for itself, no wonder with the amount of stains on it, I'm glad I had my slippers with me!

The head house keeper really needs to up their game and make sure the cleaners are actually cleaning ( yes that includes getting rid of limescale)

To be fair to the cleaners though, if the rooms look run down, it doesn't give you much inspiration to go that extra mile.

Overall, a decent experience, but with the state of my room, it was only worth £25 to £30 a night.

I hope the owner reads these reviews, and puts more effort into this hotel. After all, it was probably extremely grand and lovely in its day, it just needs the extra love and care to bring it back to life.

The position of the hotel, right on the sea front, is excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, parking was convenient immediately behind the hotel. Public rooms showed signs of former grandeur. Bedroom and en suite was spacious.
Supper in the restaurant was disappointing apparently prepared in advance and kept warm meaning vegetables were overcooked and grey. Breakfast was very good.

Good value for money at a seafront hotel A perfect location. Very convenient and reasonably priced car park. Wasn't too impressed by the breakfast. There were a couple of small deficiencies in our room. We stayed for two nights only so we did not bother reporting them.

Seaview was brilliant, hotel well placed on the front. Excellent room service. Bathroom was a bit small, bit of a problem with only one lift working especially at breakfast time. No wheelchair accessible toilets in the foyer, bar area.

Unfortunately, I need to inform you that this hotel is in need of a refresh. I can't speak for the rooms themselves, but the lobby and the entire ground floor don't quite match up to the images provided on website. However, the location and room pricing are definite pluses. The service and decor could use some improvement.

Ok but could do with renovation Good location with nearby car park as hotel car park small and full. Room dated but clean. Fair choice at breakfast Hotel is very tired looking and in need of some renovations. Main complaint was the heat, hotel was overbearingly hot, staff in dining room obviously suffering due to this. Made sleeping difficult

Did what was needed for the short stay and the staff made me smile. Well done. All went well and staff very good (especially a young 'waiter' at Breakfast)

Hotel a bit tired and needs upgrading but as I am partly in the same business I am well aware of the trials and tribulations of older buildings etc. Maybe only due to that the price was perhaps slightly high.
Really only decorations and general furniture and carpet upgrading. I am sure that the owners know this but are constrained by many factors.
