Great service. Provided a secure room to leave my bicycle in, which I really appreciated. Staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere about the place. View out of my window not so good, but that's not what I was there for, and at the price I was very happy.

Glad it was only for one night. Checking in and parking the car Certainly the bathroom, cracked sink, shower not good, toilet seat broken and very little room between sink and toilet

this hotel is a once elegant but now tired and worn out old lady. i sympathize with the owners facing the costs of fixing up a listed building (eg acres of old, stained, and worn out carpet). but thats why you can get a room at a bargain price. mediocre breakfast. large bathroom with a lovely large tub for nice soaky hot bath.

It’s not that bad! Good value for money. Reasonably priced, located along the beach front, comfortable firm bed and had great staff.

Whilst the place is dated, the room itself was clean and comfortable.
It felt a little grubby, the shower curtain was stained.
Very old school with a physical key and there was no lock on the inside to lock the door.

The room was very basic.

The location makes it very good for the price. The location is excellent and staff are friendly. Quality of the breakfast is not very good, if I stayed again I would have breakfast out. The hotel is old and a little shabby but I would say that's reflected in the price.

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast facilities. Lifts poor, and one of them permanently out of service.
Stairwells need redecoration and new carpets, also the corridors. The stairwell near reception is truly awful.

A great-value seaside break Fantastic location, welcoming staff, lots of seaview seating in the public rooms; the weather! Having a bath as well as a shower. Didn't sleep that well, not sure if it was because of the mattress, street noise, creaky floorboards or just me...

I had a terrific, excellent-value four-night stay at Eastbourne’s Burlington (helped by unseasonal good weather). Yes, the once-grand hotel has definitely seen better days, but my room was fine (delighted to have a bath as well as a shower), the breakfasts perfectly adequate, the bar prices good, the staff friendly and helpful and there's plenty of sea-view seating in the public rooms. It’s centrally located, with the beach directly opposite and the train station/Towner art gallery/theatres only a 10min walk away. As long as you aren’t too fussy about decor, for a cheap, cheerful, relaxing, no-frills seaside break I highly recommend it.

Good location, but hotel a little lacking. The location overlooking the Pier was good. In common with many similar hotels, there was an air of faded grandeur. One of the lifts was out of order, the functioning one was rather ropey. The bedroom was fine, although a little drab and with some paper peeling off the ceiling. I had no little milk cartons in my room the first night. The bathroom had an old, different-coloured sink to the bath and toilet. I just felt the place needed some TLC and a little more attention to detail.

nice break in Eastborne. characterful hotel. great value. room clean and comfortable we asked about dinner prices at reception. (very reasonable. ) came down at 7.30 to be told dinner had finished and we should have booked before 6.
no one mentioned this at our initial enquiry. got chippy but that’s not the point.

Good for what we wanted, a family reunion. Very central which was brilliant and very nice staff. View fabulous - sea view room. Loved the covered area by the bar looking onto street. Seating in breakfast room rather crowded. Very limited selection but what there was was lovely. Staff very nice. Didn't like the bottles of milk on table which could spread germs during service with different people at table. And rather wasteful as it will need to be thrown away (I would hope) after service. Superior rooms very nice. Only 1 lift a bit disappointing but it worked perfectly during our 4 day stay. Staff at reception very kind but not at all informed as to what was going on. And where were information leaflets. Seating area just inside main door - very drab and uninviting. At least get some nice plants in nice pots ! Look at some of the other hotels and get some ideas. They have somewhere to sit and chat. You do not!
No information leaflets and reception staff had no idea as to what was going on even with banners along The Promenade.
We had to find out for ourselves.
