The best thing about this hotel is the location. Rooms are quite modern and sufficient for a short stay. The service good and the receptionist very friendly. The choice of breakfast not great though, unless you want full english and not much apart from that. Also, the hotel needs a proper refurbishment, it has the dirtiest carpets on the staircase I have ever seen and this includes hotels in Africa. Doors in the corridors and the toilet have disgusting dirty patches where people touch it. No sanitizers in the toilets. I would recommend it for 1-2 nights stay, not longer.

A mixed Airbourne stay Staff were exceptional
Great seaview room overlooking pier
Twin beds 1st night in superior seaview were ok but had only 1 pillow each provided and on asking for more as Ive just had heart surgery were told theyd run out !!
we had to move to seaview twin standard for next 3 nights and although good size room with bigger tv ! the beds were dreadful as they wobbled and creaked with every movement, maybe due to the uneven creaky old floors ?? And the windows are in a dreadful state of repair with plants growing on the ironwork outside and filthy dirty external glazing , yes there are many birds outside but it really was poor

Breakfast was ok for husband but not for me as I like croissants etc and these were not available on 2 mornings yes theyd run out like the pillows !! So I went to the bakery around the corner !! Decaff coffee available thank goodness
The young man on duty was a fabulous personality and a star of the breakfast room sorry forgot name sorry

Reception staff also excellent and helpful

2nd lift that fits 4 with manual doors is a JOKE
we mostly used the smaller stairs by reception for the exercise in busy times

Bar areas good, we won the quiz one night and the regulars didnt like that lol
Entertainer singer was very good

Price pretty good considering it was for Airbourne unlike many other establishments with their overpricing for such events

Overall we appreciate the building was in its heyday in 1851 and would cost a fortune to do up the exteriors but maybe just clean those windows lol

Thanks to all staff we met and all the housekeeping we never saw but appreciated their work

Great views and location Great views of the seafront and pier. Close to the main shopping area and many restaurants. Staff were friendly and very helpful, including a room change at short notice and resolving any minor issues we had e.g. noisy fan Hotel is a bit run down with very old fashioned decor in the dining room and communal areas of the hotel. Lifts are very small, so can’t hold a mobility scooter and even a wheelchair would be a struggle to fit. Disabled access is via a side entrance at the back of the dining room. The door has a bell that did not work, so I had to go inside and let my wife in with her scooter.

Not great Breakfast good. Hotel was clean. Good view from the bar. The lifts were poor. Dinner in restaurant ending at 7.30 about strange. Paid for up grade room which overlooked the fire escape and bins.
Reception not very helpful regarding parking.
Should have been notify about parking being suspended along the whole road in front of the hotel, then not helpful about where we could park.
All he kept saying was the car park was full. No other information given.

Great check. Spacious room overlooking the downs. Pillows need to be fluffier. But they came up with a spare, so no problem. Good bedding comfy bed

Good visit Really good location, adequate breakfast. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Nice sea view in some of the rooms. My parents were told on the phone that they would be able to park in the car park for free because they have a blue badge, but on arrival were told that they needed to pay the £6/night because it's not actually the hotels car park.

One of the lifts is a small cupboard, but the other one is fine.

the room was big & roomy and it did have a front facing sea view, which i was not expecting. only usually when you hotels say sea view it's either from a side room or a view if you stand on a chair. late evening, it was warm so we went out the front for some fresh air & it was a struggle to breath with all the smoke & smokers in & out. it was like a smokers hut, was a shame.

This is an old hotel and fairly updated .very clean and tidy. Staff excellent - friendly and helpful Brekfast good. However exactly same on buffet on both mornings! Only scrambled eggs - no fried or poached. It was enough - but needs more variety
Single room was adequate for my basic needs! Small but comfy enough. View was of the car park!
More variety for buffet breakfast

Lovely place to stay, great location for other restaurants and cafe beautiful views. Beautiful period features. Good size room light and airy, situated right on the sea front The buffet style breakfast was not to my liking only done scrambled eggs and not hot at all.., and the bar snacks were like frozen meals not cooked fresh as you’d expect, some bar staff members were not very patient with other guests. Very noisy at nights due to loud music and arguments into the early hours of the morning… 4 hours sleep most nights
