Great location on sea front shame about room view I got also windows didn't lock room clean but bit dated an pai ted grey felt like I was in a cell bathroom could do with over all an corridors could do with been brighter paint as grey corridors very squeaky floor boards bar ok only larger an cider on draft rest in fridges breakfast self service which ok nice frontage wifi on house too

Bit dated seems same as when i worked her 30 odd yr ago corridors very noisey squeaky floor boards though people were coming in alf of night windows didn't lock which bit alarming tomsayni was on fire exit level so any one could of got in but room was clean bathhad a bit of lime scale from drip on taps but clean too

We like staying here it’s opposite the beach and near to the town the staff are pleasant and helpful.
We upgraded to a superior sea view room overlooking the pier it was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast which was a buffet style with a variety of hot and cold food which would give everyone a choice of breakfast. We have used this hotel many times.

Great location but needs updating
It looked tired and was in need of tlc to be honest, dirty bedroom carpet and wash basin in poor repair but it’s location was great and it is a grand old building
The above but I think the staff are doing their best to keep it together it just needs some money spent on it. To make up for it all the staff there were brilliant and so helpful- I wish them all well

very cold in room heating was not working, we didn't eat in Resturant because last time we was there food was not good, had entertainment but bar closed early and we could only use other bar that did not have all choices of drink.

I usually stay here for the room with bathtub/shower combination. The last 2 visits have neeb unsuccessful, so very disappointing for me.

To be really honest with you the superior rooms in my eyes wasnt superior there was that many elderly people saying how cold they were in there rooms its was a shame. At the bar tuesday night the girl behind the bar left 6 people up the bar and went for a cigarette with her boyfriend when she came back she walked past us and said FXXKING People. My husband was going to say something but it was my birthday and id had a BLT if you would wonna call that from the bar and it made me sick . So didnt really enjoy my birthday thank you very much

A very decent hotel for the price, with very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, especially when we wanted to check out a little later than 10am. We didn't have a room with a view, but that didn't matter, especially not for the price. The room was decent considering the price we paid, and the beds were comfortable and there was tea and coffee in the room, which is always nice. Breakfast was very nice too, with a decent buffet selection. It's also nice that there's a car park at the back of the hotel, which means you don't have to drive around trying to find somewhere to park.
The room wasn't as clean as it could have been, particularly the shower. I think there was black mould on the grouting, or at least the grouting had gone black. The window also wouldn't shut in the bathroom, and there were water stains/damp stains on the ceiling. The other thing that was a little startling was the fact that there's no soundproofing at all, so I could hear the people above us talking at 11pm, not even very loudly, and the TV from the room next door, and people in rooms across the hallway. Minor niggle was no plug sockets by the bed, but that's just because it's what I'm used to, it's not a dealbreaker.

A well located hotel for the pier, beach & bonfire parade with a lovely comfy bed.
The room & bathroom were very clean & the staff were all really nice -friendly & helpful.
The room was basic with a view of a wall and car park which for the very small amount I paid was much as I was expecting. Above & beyond the very small price I paid was a really comfortable bed, a kettle with a selection of teas & coffees plus a really good hairdryer. Like a lot of the hotels a long the front, the building was from a bygone era which whilst lovely needs a lot of work doing on it.
