Obviously the location and views are fab so it will always benefit from that. It is also very large so can imagine it will get very busy in the summer. Our mains came so quickly that they cannot possibly have been freshly made. I had the fishcake with side salad. Wasn't impressed with the salad! Very boring - just some leaves with a couple of cucumber slices and quarters of tomato, yawn. The fishcake was ok but somehow not quite enough and the lime that came with it was ancient and desiccated so no juice to squeeze out. My friend had the root vege salad but it was all leaves and no root vegetables! So all in all adequate but not amazing, I certainly wouldn't rush back.

Nicely designed chain restaurant in a superb location with views overlooking the English channel and east towards Holywell and Beachy Head.

Great range of menu items to choose from and the size and quality of the meals is of a high standard. Highly recommend the 'steak frites'. Delicious. The complimentary bread basket is a nice touch too.

My only complaint is the mains came out on unbearably hot plates which I actually burnt my finger on. The kitchen staff who placed the plates didn't warn us at all. I actually raised this with our waitress but she didn't apologise and just mentioned how she also has burnt herself on the hot plates previously.

A very nice French Café Bar and restaurant with south and west facing windows. Built on the site of the old wish tower complex. Not had a meal there yet, perfect for a drink from the bar, or a coffee and a cake after a good walk to the Italian gardens and back. A coffee at the big table in front of the the bar. Awesome real ale, Long Man best bitter is on sale at the bar.

Went with a group, seated quickly and given time to decide on drinks, we were all using a voucher for 2 courses for £10. Service from ordering to receive food was arguably a little slow but there was a nice atmosphere and it was very busy. Food when it came was delicious and both starter and main were very good portions and worth waiting for. Staff were pleasant despite being busy and all of us said we would come back again.

Very good meal on Sunday night. Served hot on hot plates. Presentation of vegetables could be improved but very tasty food. Our waiter, Franco, was very attentive. Will visit again.

At last! A superb restaurant in Eastbourne. We've been waiting so long. We moved here in 2004 and have been searching, mostly disappointed, for a really good French restaurant. Eastbourne can be a very fuddy-duddy place sometimes so we pop across the Channel for really good meals. Now we can enjoy delicious, veritable French cooking whilst overlooking the Channel with superb views to enjoy. The decor and fitting out of this restaurant is of excellent design and quality, no wobbly tables or chairs. The welcome and cheerful, helpful service is first-rate, even though they must be rushed off their feet because the place was buzzing. The prix fixe lunch menu, which is what we enjoyed for my birthday, has an admirable choice of classic French dishes. My chicken liver parfait was perfectly pink and moist, not the usual dry, brown example in many English establishments. Honey-glazed pork medallions with cooked-to-perfection vegetables was perfect and the French crêpe with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream was a magnificent end to the meal, beautifully thin (something many English restaurants are too timid to produce, usually making them far too thick) with just the right amount of sauce and one scoop of velvety ice cream. Perfect! I wish this restaurant every success. It was a little difficult to book, probably because they're new and very, very busy. I tried online but the site still had only the Christmas options available, so I tried to phone but the queue was too long to wait for. So we went there for a drink and to make a future booking, but we were accommodated with a table within about five minutes, and it was wonderful. But on checking today (one day after our meal) the menus are up to date, so they've already fixed that. Bon appetit! But save a place for us.

A really wonderful location, Eastbourne needs a really good restaurant. Myself & friends had lunch here today. Still needs some final tweaking with the service as there was quite a bit of waiting.

Such a beautiful location and view. Inside is buzzy with a great ambience. SHOULD be a wow experience to eat here.....but unfortunately.....not!
First time there was for lunch: everything was top class and we were given an electronic review to complete (favourably).
2nd time was for an evening meal which was poor.....service slow and food not up to standard. Had to send my haddock fish cake back...it was burnt on the sides the poached egg on top would have bounced if it had hit the floor and the surrounding sauce had formed a skin on top. How could a chef send that out and how could a waiter present it to me? I was given another meal after complaining but it was only slightly better (and by that time the accompanying veg were cold). No offer to electronically review the meal this time !
3rd time was a very mediocre meal for: a)service.....b)size of portions and c)taste. Not awful enough to send back but nothing special (Plus my husband was never offered a steak knife for his steak)
So shan't bother to go again. Shame.

Thank you so much for a lovely Christmas Day meal. We had to wait a little in the beginning but had delicious cocktails in the bar. The meal was fabulous. Despite being really busy the food was cooked perfectly, the service was great and good fun. Jokes were rubbish in the crackers but you can’t win them all (lol) as the young people say. Thanks again! 🎄🥂

Although very busy on Boxing Day, we had an excellent three course lunch. Good service all round. Brilliant sirloin steak.

I love the deep-fried brie & berry crepe but not keen on beef au poivre. The parsnips, carrots & broccoli are boiled or steamed - boring & tasteless!! The potatoes are no better either - I only had 3 small ones! The staff were lovely though.

Lovely meal beautiful views on a sunny day but one customer complained about the sun being in her eyes so staff in my opinion over reacted putting blinds down blocking views for everyone. The location of Pierre Bistrot must be one of the best in UK and must never be blocked.

Went today for a pre Christmas family meal.
I have to say the food was delicious and faultless and the decor and surroundings awesum. However the service was confused and very delayed. We had to ask to order each course and then wait a while to pay at the end. The staff who looked after us seemed to forget or get distracted by other requests. We had different people look after us. That said all the staff were polite and nice so I hope purely teething problems and hope to return to a more organised service on the floor. The food once ordered was delivered to the table very timely. I look forward to using the restaurant again and especially in the summer.
