“The pursuit of art on a regular basis may be the key to healing our minds and bodies.” (Kim Blair)

The Riverside Café in Newcastle Emylyn is presenting a collection of artworks from Zara Kuchi.

The exhibition from Zara Kuchi began on the 18th of June and will continue until the 18th of August 2012.
The Riverside Café is a place for local artists to display and sell their artwork and this supports the holistic view of health and well being promoted by the Riverside Health Food Shop and the Riverside Café.

Originally from Cornwall and after extensive travelling in South America and Europe, Zara has settled with her family in West Wales.  Drawing on her travels and experiences as a mother she has developed an organic body of work.
Kuchi writes: 'Mankind is borne forward by narrative and that inspires my figurative work: 'stories' extracted loosely from issues of womanhood, multiculturalism, the interconnectivity of man and earth and references from world/folk mythologies'.

The Mother and child, the East European ‘love-bird’ and the masculine Rooster are motifs that weave throughout her work to tell her stories or for viewers to interpret their own.
Enjoy a break in the Riverside Café and enjoy Zara’s  ‘stories’.  For enquiries call 01239 639 105
