Sealife Turtle Fest comes to Brighton for World Turtle Day

The purpose of World Turtle Day, May 23, is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive.

Beginning on World Turtle Day on May 23rd, SEA LIFE  centres, including SEALIFE Brighton will host a  wide range of activities that will be turtle related to raise money for endangered turtles in Greece.

Some of the activities are, Ninja turtle classes, fancy dress, turtle crafts, colouring competitions and special turtle talks...

  • Face-Painting
  • Turtle Quiz Trail
  • Turtle Games and More


The event will run from 23rd May to 5th June.

Also guests will be invited to join in with ‘Make a Turtle Smile’ Campaign and will see have their photo taken whilst pulling a turtle smile with their forefingers. These will be uploaded to their ‘Make a Turtle Smile’ Website.

Those attending the day will be asked to donate some money towards the Turtle Hospital Fund and the money raised will go towards them building a Turtle Rescue Centre on the Greek island of Zakynthos, along with the NGO Group and Earth Sea.

So far SEA LIFE Centres have raised €140,000 towards the centre and hopes to raise another €230,000.

The SEA LIFE Centres holding the event are - Brighton, Birmingham, Blackpool, Weymouth, Scarborough, Great Yarmouth, Hunstanton, Oban and Loch Lomond.

So why not pop along to the SEA LIFE Centre at Brighton and donate some money towards the campaign.
