Rock the House Hove & Portslade Battle of the Bands – Audio, Brighton – March 30th 6:30pm


Mike Weatherley MP is proud to announce a live Battle of the Bands to select his over 18s band nomination for Rock the House, the national live music competition which he founded.

The competition as a whole is open to solo artists and bands of any age.

The battle of the bands for the over 18s bands will be held at Audio on the 30th March 6:30 till10:00.


The special guest judging panel will include:

    • Gazz Marlow – InMe guitarist
    • Alexander Milas – Metal Hammer editor
    • Dom Lawson – Bloodstock radio, journalist, musician
    • Nat Spada – Totally Rock radio, upcoming Juice FM rock show
    • Philip Wilding – Wild Bunch Media journalist, Future Publishing editor
    • David Courtney – Record producer, composer, NuMusic TV, Brighton Music Awards 2013
    • Allan McGowan – VIP News, IQ Magazine, International Live Music Conference

 

They will determine the winning band on the night between Preserver, Sin To Survive, For What It’s Worth and Bleak Falls.

The winning band will receive prizes on the night from Orange Amps, Yamaha, Hobgoblin and Heineken and will also go forward to compete in the next stage of the national competition which will be judged by a panel of international music industry experts and musicians.

The finalists will take part in a battle of the bands in London to determine the winner and the winner in each category will perform live at a final competition reception on the Terrace at the House of Commons in the evening.

The prize list is extensive, and includes:

    • To perform on the House of Common Terrace in front of celebrities, press and industry
    • experts.
    • To compete in a Battle of The Bands at The Bedford in London, in front of influential music
    • judges.
    • To play at the historic Cavern Club, which has played host to hundreds of music’s biggest
    • names and is the birthplace of the Beatles.
    • Slots at music festivals, including the legendary heavy metal Download and the relatively
    • new and eclectic Cornbury festival. (subject to suitability)
    • A slot at one of the phenominally successful Festival Republic Festivals
    • A chance to mix with the giants of music
    • At Caffe Nero’s throughout the country

The competition counts a host of Rock Stars as its Patrons, including Alice Cooper, Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus, the Bee Gees Robin Gibb, Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan, Fightstar’s Charlie Simpson, Anthrax’s Rob Caggiano, Yes’ Rick Wakeman, Gallows’ Laurent Barnard and Don Broco’s Rob Damiani.
