A recent forum thread on LinkedIn titled 'Restaurant Suggestions Anyone?" elicited over 65 responses from local business professionals in Brighton & Hove.

The comments were interesting both in content and in that they covered a variety of cuisines so we thought that we would summarise them here for a wider audience.

AmericanSmokey's - "If you like meat, I'd highly recommend Smokey's on the seafront. Absolutely superb food, good portions too. The staff were lovely." - Sophie Paul

British - 64 Degrees - "Try for something different. It's been getting rave reviews and I had a great night there." - Neil Constantine

British - Coal Shed - "Not the cheapest by a way but excellent food if you like meat in proper size porttions." - Douglas Hedger

British - The Courtyard Restaurant - "The Courtyard Restaurant is very good. Their head chef, Jason, used to be Prince Charles's personal chef. I kid you not. And they are part of a superb digital loyalty scheme called Bounti, which is slowly getting popular in Brighton." - Paz Chauhan

British and French - Busby & Wilds - "Discreet, quiet, informal, food well worth eating and prices are very reasonable for the quality." - Emma Drew

European and British - Bom-Banes - "Bom-Banes is always mine and my girlfriend's first choice for a special night out - very Brighton-quirky and proprieter Jane always goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and looked-after. Especially recommended for those who favour beer over wine as they stock a small but excellent range of premium/craft beers." - Andy Morton

Fish - Fishy Fishy - "Tried Fishy Fishy 2 weeks ago - It gets a lot of good press and good reviews and I thought these were well deserved. Great food and excellent service and the cost was not too bad either." - David Crosby

Japanese - E-Kagen - "An awesome family-run Japanese cafe. Good food and value." - Jonathon Lind
