Nathan G, Comedian, talks about weddings in the 21st century and what part he can play in them. Also as an entertainer he can enliven any special event with his special brand of humour as an after dinner speaker or MC.
Weddings are amongst my favourite gigs. I love adding my public speaker wit to the proceedings so the guests have an excuse for rushing off to the bar. I can also act as MC if you really want to live dangerously. But it’s for the bride and groom that I make the biggest effort. After all, it could be their last laugh together before marriage sets in. Not that I have anything against marriage. I’ve done it three times. Always the same problem. The wife goes on a diet and her clothes no longer fit me. And if you can’t stand the sight of me, it happens. I can write the speeches for the groom and/or the best man I even do stag nights, which helps the participants have an extra reason for getting blind drunk. Indeed, I can add a terrific dynamic to any special event, especially business ones. Conferences, away days, staff functions and so on, I’m you’re man. As a businessman myself, I made a very good comedian. As far as I was concerned, money always talked…usually to say goodbye.
