Brighton Foodies Festival 2011

What a fantastic three days we had at the Brighton and Hove Foodies Festival. Loads of tasty food and interesting drinks. My personal favourite was Sam's of Brighton, the wonderful sweet and sour pork belly was superb.  Medicine Chest's venison burgers were very good also. My son was totally hooked on the burgers from Hove based Burger Off, he reckons they are the best he has ever tasted. All washed down with a pint of real cider. So much food to sample, so little time.

As proud media sponsors of the festival we were the only non-food exhibitor, our stand was adorned with not only our own marketing material but also advertising from our business members. We were on a mission to canvass local opinion to find the most popular and finest businesses in the city (including restaurants). Despite the very breezy conditions we were able to encourage hundreds of local people to tell us which local businesses they loved and why. We found people were very willing to tell us all about their favourites which made our job a lot easier. Maybe the chance to enter the free prize draw also helped.

At the same time we were actively promoting the businesses that use our marketing services. Some joined us at the stand which proved very fruitful for those involved. We were joined by the effervescent and very hard working Debbie Brown from I leave my mark who raises money for local and national charities that have the expertise and experience to provide specialist care in working with childhood trauma. CJ from Bikram Yoga Brighton in Portslade was doing brisk business and Lucy from LGM Nutrition had a lot of interest from health conscious locals. Stephen Welburn Chauffering also made an appearance as did Clive Gale-Smith from Simply Blinding. The special offers from our featured businesses were snapped up by hundreds of shrewd festival goers.

Many thanks to our prize draw contributors:-

DNK Hair & Beauty

Topolino Duo

On Tap

Hove MOT

UK iPOD Repairs

Millan Tandoori

Duke of Yorks Cinema

A very worthwhile event. We now have a better idea of which local businesses are a cut above the rest and will be looking to promote them as the Best of Brighton and Hove.
