The government recently announced plans for a boiler scrappage scheme. The scheme is designed to get householders to upgrade from their old inefficient band 'G' rated boilers.

Did you know that there are an estimated 4.5 million Band 'G' rated boilers in use that are less than 70% efficient.

Advantages of changing from a 'G' rated boiler to an 'A' rated

  • Savings of up to £235 per year
  • Could make savings of 1.2 tonnes of CO2 per year

To help you identify whether you have a band G boiler:-

  • Floor Standing Boilers - Pre 2002 with permanent pilot ignition
  • Wall mounted Boilers - Pre 2002 with cast iron heat exchanger and permanent pilot ignition
  • Combi Boilers - Pre 1998
  • Back Boilers - Pre 2002
  • Flue -  If you have an open flue it is probable that you have a Band 'G' rated Boiler
