BREMF: Arts Council Grants for the Arts support confirmed for the 2017 Festival!

This is our biggest ever Arts Council grant, and reflects the fact that as well as supporting an ambitious programme of work, both in our public events and in our work with young people, we're also going to be investing in a professional database package.  This new system, which will come on-line in 2018, will make it much easier for us to connect with our audience as well as making ticket booking a much more seamless process.  There will be lots of work on that behind the scenes, but in the meantime, this grant allows us to confirm that we'll go ahead with the 2017 Festival programme as planned.  We're hugely grateful to the Arts Council for believing in us and what we do!

However, whilst the Arts Council grant forms the backbone of our funding and allows us to go ahead with our plans, £48,000 covers only a quarter of our annual budget, so we are still actively fundraising for 2017.  We're delighted that a number of charitable trusts have made grants to us this year (see our website for a full list of funders to date), but we'll also be running a crowdfunding appeal later in the year, which is a way audience members can get really involved in underpinning the Festival (as well as benefiting from some interesting rewards!).

Don't miss the chance to book for our Early Music Weekend in August, which is open to instrumentalists and singers.  This is a weekend course running from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th August, celebrating renaissance composers Heinrich Isaac and Jacobus Vaet whose anniversaries fall this year.
