Came with my girls for a getaway. Enjoyed the location, staff very friendly. Spa was amazing . Would definitely come again. Wouldn't book breakfast again, it came cold on the first day. I prefer omelettes which they didn't have. But overall nice experience.

Mum and daughter time relaxing Breakfast was good. Service was friendly. Comfortable bed. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to use the spa for a couple of hours once we'd checked out of our room.

Stayed in this hotel some years ago at Xmas time. Really enjoyed it then and always said we would be back. It has had a lot of changes since then , all for the good. The food was fabulous, the staff were really friendly and the whole stay was so relaxing. We took our granddaughter this time and she absolutely loved it. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back as soon as we can.

I could write such a long review about how fantastic the day was thanks to the venue and the staff working there but I'll keep to the usual parts for future guests so you don't get bored of reading it. The date had been moved a couple of times due to covid, Last Drop were supportive throughout. We stayed the night before the wedding and had a wonderful meal in the restaurant, we were given a great welcome and settled into our rooms which were clean and new looking, anything we asked for was no trouble. The day itself was magical, the Penny Farthing Suite has it's own chapel for the ceremony, a bar that isn't shared and was well staffed. The wedding breakfast was cooked lovely which is difficult for so many people. The whole day and night was a wonderful atmosphere and very welcoming. If you are planning on booking your wedding I would not hesitate, the wedding co-ordinator Liz has been a great support to my sister and my brother in law during the process of having to rearrange several times, nothing was too much trouble from start to finish over a period of 2 years in the end. On the day I had a dress issue and she was over in minutes to help. All was sorted so no worries there. We didn't use the spa as we were too busy having a good time after so long in lock down but social distancing was still supported. It has been a few weeks since the wedding now and I find myself thinking still how perfect it was, this would not have been possible without such great service from the Last Drop and all staff who supported on Saturday 7th and Sunday the 8th August. Thank you all so much.

We have just come back from a lovely 2 night stay at this hotel, following a very last minute booking as we decided to not stay at our next road trip stop due to bad reviews.

From booking to checkout it was brilliant!! They knew we had a dog so they put a little dog bed and bowl in the room and offered her a complimentary sausage and water at breakfast.

The spa is lovely, great pool which we all enjoyed, lovely outside looking hydro pool and 5 variations of steam and sauna. Gym is brilliant for a hotel gym, clean and lots of good equipment.

We are there both days and the food was of a good standard, breakfast is very good and they run a great bar menu all day. They allowed us to sit in a separate lounge so we could eat our meals with the dog, set up tables for us for dinner and breakfast so we didn’t miss out and the dog was allowed on the outside terrace.

Room was clean, spacious and of a good decorative standard. They were able to provide an additional 2 single beds to accommodate our 2 children on the room.

All the staff were friendly, the general managers were super helpful and there were 2 stand out employees for us, jade who worked in the evening bar and restaurant and was so kind, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us… thank you jade and I hope the hotel recognises you. The second one would be Elliot, and the third was a guy named Oliver (temp staff) who was brilliant in the bar and again so helpful.

I’d seen on previous review about noise and building works, we were not disturbed once and yes there are some building works by the hotel but this is unavoidable (there are building works everywhere) and it didn’t cause us any bother.

Would defo stay again when I look to visit Manchester again as it’s a 25 min drive to the centre.

Thank you to each and everyone for our very relaxing and enjoyable stay, rob, Alex, rosie, Olivia and Harper x

All very average, minor issues need to be rectified. Nothing to write home about, felt premier inn was better to be honest. Food service and room all ok but could be better for a 4 star hotel. Ok they have a spa, not really into using them...

35+ years of visiting isn’t going to change the Drop as my first choice for a staycation.
The place has changed hands numerous times over the years but the welcome has always been the same.
Slight dip in stay rating this time round.
Nothing to do with the staff (familiar faces and new) who were as friendly as usual, rather how busy the hotel was.
Not much the hotel can do about inconsiderate guests (couple arguing at 1.30 day 2, noisy wedding guests at 3.30 in the morning on day 3) &
it pains to say but breakfast didn’t quite match up to the usual high standards.
Quality of ingredients were as always experienced but I just felt the number of guests meant the usual attention to the food couldn’t be achieved.
I’ve been spoiled over the years & want to keep this place just how I like it....

All of this being said I’ll be back & hopefully it’ll be a shorter gap than the 13 months between visits next time round.

Wow! We cannot say how amazing the Last Drop has been for our wedding! We had to postpone 4 times due to Covid, our wonderful wedding planner Liz was awesome with all of it! We couldn’t have asked for anyone better! No matter how many emails I sent (and I sent a lot!) they was always answered, sometimes even on her days off! We was so happy and amazed that with all the changes we had to make to dates everything stayed the same, there was no increase in prices which is amazing considering we got married 13 months after our original date!!

All of our guest have told us they absolutely loved our day! The food was fantastic, served quick and hot!! The cheesecake is to die for!!

I would so recommend the Last Drop to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue! We cannot praise them enough!

Thanks so much for everything and making our day the best day we could have ever wished for and more!

We cannot wait for our anniversary stay!!

We got married here and had the best weekend we could have imagined!

Jacqueline, our wedding coordinator, planned and executed everything exactly as we had planned with the help of the team, and gave us our dream day!

All the staff involved in the wedding were amazing, everyone was so nice and so helpful! I cant even count the number of staff who made a point of coming and congratulating us, and wishing me a happy birthday, which given how busy they were was such a lovely experiance! Special mention must go to Nasser (master of ceremony) who managed to keep everything running so smoothly! Not an easy feet with all our guest.

The venue where very accommodating of certain requirements on the food service and nothing was too much. Fantastic weekend and really good feedback from my many guests!

Good value for money and an enjoyable stay. Food was surprisingly good and enjoyed the cocktails in the bar. Hydro pool and sauna area was relaxing and the gym well equipped.
Booked directly with hotel and got a great offer.

Unfortunately, lots of new houses spoil the view from the front of the hotel. The room we stayed in was basic with tired net curtains and carpet. Dinner was fabulous, breakfast mediocre. Spa facilities were great although ladies' changing room floors could have done with more frequent cleaning.

A very relaxing overnight stay . Evening meal and breakfast very good. Excellent value for money . Spa facilities are excellent. The setting and grounds are beautiful, but the location is a little out of the way for public transport.

The hotel itself was nice and is set up as a little village of shops around. I was disappointed that there was a problem with the shower which I didn't let reception know in the evening as I was at the wedding. The shower was permanently cold. When I checked out on the morning I let reception know who said you should have told us. I quickly commented that as I was at a wedding all day I didn't check the shower until 12am at night when I got in. I was asked how I got a shower in the morning to which I said I didn't. There was no token of apology which I would expect with hotel that you paying over £100 for a night and that was with a discount for the wedding party. In my opinion this is the hotel maintainances job to check before people arrive not the guests who are then inconvenianced. It definitely spoilt my visit.

Great place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect for us to unwind and spend time with family in the area. The hotel is so pretty but the staff really make it, they are friendly and caring. I would stay here again without hesitation and recommend it without reservation.

Had a lovely break with my friend. Some minor disappointments due to poor staff management but all resolved. I would not have paid full price for the evening meal but as it was included in our deal, not a problem. Star staff member for us was a wonderful, friendly and helpful member of the housekeeping team.

Ideal location for us, great room. Room excellent. Staff very helpful Would prefer if spa guests did not wear robes in the bar. The taxi we ordered as recommended by hotel was a disgrace, old, rusty, dirty and not at all acceptable when one is dressed to go to a fancy restaurant. Also, 30 minute wait to order breakfast, although we only paid for one of the two breakfasts as a gesture of goodwill by staff

First impressions of this place were incredibly mixed. Whilst it is tucked away in some beautiful surroundings, there is now a huge housing development across from the car park - which is now the view from the Hydrotherapy Pool.

Check in was simple, and incredibly welcoming. The staff member on check-in desk allowed us to access our room an hour early. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there.

We had coffee prior to accessing the spa and were greeted by a bar full of glasses from the night before. The male staff member who served us was not the most attentive and not the greatest at making coffee.

We ventured from the spa to the bar restaurant to have some lunch, and chose to sit outside in the sun. The lunch menu is not vast, and so we decided to just settle for a sandwich and chips as we were booked in for an evening meal later on. It was £25 for two sandwiches and two portions of chips (chips were £4.50 per bowl which is a surprise as I am convinced we are not in a potato famine.)

My partner's food came smothered in mayonnaise as the same knife had been used to cut both sandwiches. A clear allergies no-no! My Cajun chicken sandwich was billed as being served on ''farmhouse granary'' but unfortunately was nothing of the sort. I would describe the bread as stale, supermarket own brand wholemeal. The sandwich was bland and looked like it had been thrown together.

No follow up check was completed on the food which was dubbed as my fault as I chose to sit somewhere they do not usually serve food - but it was agreed we could eat there. The issue here was not exactly with the follow up check, but how the plates were then left a further 30 minutes in the baking sun attracting all sorts of wildlife - who knew wasps loved stale wholemeal bread?!

I therefore went inside to speak to the supervisor to address the concerns. He informed me he would speak to the head chef and I asked whether this feedback could then be brought to me out of courtesy. He came back to me and informed me that the head chef was far from happy with this and was going to speak to the other individual in the kitchen. I think it was this point where alarm bells rung if kitchen staff are not privy to what knife to use to cut a sandwich. However, I must say that at this point, the supervisor kindly offered to refund the food and would pass on these concerns to the restaurant supervisor for our meal this evening. I appreciated the feedback and offer of a refund.

The spa facilities were extremely clean and welcoming. However, I must again mention that the relaxing backdrop of the Hydrotherapy Pool is now a looming crane and diggers chugging past - I tried to reassure myself that this was a truly reflective holiday resort experience. One of the spa rooms was out of order unfortunately, and my attention focused largely on the Aroma Grotto (that is its real name). We had seen various couples venture in here only to leave approximately 7 seconds later. Out of sheer curiosity, we had to check it out. It became apparent immediately as to why the visits were so brief: this Grotto houses an aroma not immensely dissimilar to a urinal block with a faint hint of sewage. I am open to many things, but being relaxed by an aroma of bodily waste is not on my list.

Despite this, we lounged by the pool for a number of hours. Dipping in and out and reading. My partner did have a back and neck massage which was fantastic and a real highlight of the stay.

The room was lovely and spacious with a bath and shower. The shower was dated despite the rest of the room being modern. Overall, the bedroom facilities were lovely and the bed was extremely comfy.

This then brings me to dinner which was perhaps one of the oddest dining experiences of my life. Upon arrival to the bar, two staff greeted us (and these were the most attentive staff in the entire place who consistently went above and beyond. Their names escape me but they were two young girls.) It had come to light that they heard about our lunch time dining experience and informed us that they had ''heard all about us.'' Upon reflection I now see the funny side of this, but at the time was taken aback by what appears to be a lapse of professionalism on the supervisors part.

We were seated promptly. Orders were taken and starters arrived rather quickly. Starters were nice and tasty with decent portions. Once finished, mains arrived quickly once the plates been taken and this is where the confusion began. My partner’s steak was incorrect and had to be taken back to be rectified so I was left eating on my own for a while. I ordered beef ragu and what greeted me can only be described as gravy pasta. It was a nondescript, brown coloured sauce with peas and carrots in. There were bits of beef in, but it was largely fatty. My understanding of a ragu is a rich, tomato-based sauce stirred through the pasta with hearty pieces of meat running through it. I can only describe it as Sunday dinner left overs plopped on some anaemic pasta. I left most of it. However, a huge plus that my partner's meal came back great and we successfully ate our meals at separate times.

To add to the ambience of ''whatever goes'', the table beside us had begun to tuck in to their starters when only a mere 3 minutes later they were brought their main meals. The flustered waiter stood there with two plates and uttered ''are you finished with your starters?'' To which the pair responded ''we have not even started them.'' The main meals were returned to the kitchen.

When the waiter attended our table to clear away our plates, I asked whether it was actually gravy on pasta. He informed me he was not sure, but did admit that this meal was the most returned, most left, and most thrown away. I was flabbergasted at this and just thought to myself: ''change it then?''

As we left the restaurant we were asked by the supervisor how things were. I advised that one meal had to be returned and therefore we ate at different times which was not ideal. I also queried my meal and confirmed that it simply seemed to be gravy and pasta. I was reassured that it was indeed a tomato-based sauce which is slow cooked. I confirmed that it did not have a single hint of tomato and resembled a Sunday lunch leftover. I was again hastily reassured that the food I had just consumed was not from Sunday leftovers (it was now Tuesday evening). I was informed I should have said something sooner and the whole dish could have been replaced. I explained how one meal had already been incorrect and I did not want to eat entirely on my own if waiting for a new meal. I also passed on the waiter’s comments which were not taken well...

We departed the next day after breakfast. Breakfast was very good with a lovely range of choice and not a gravy granule in sight (bonus).

Even after typing this review up, I still cannot make my mind up on my honestly reflection of this place. It has amazing potential but lacks in such simple things - not one staff member had a clue what was on the afternoon tea for example despite it being £22.70 per person with prosecco. The construction going on also ruins the atmosphere. Yes, rooms were comfy and the spa was enjoyable, but so much other necessities were lacking and vacant.

I would not stay again until these aspects are rectified.
