I was there for an evening event. Although the room was a little basic the staff were fantastic. By chance I was there near Halloween and most of the staff were in full-on costume and make-up. The event went very well and the meal was great. If I'm back in that area I will be staying there again.

Beautiful period property with extensive facilities including corporate and wedding services. Looking a bit tired in places, but the friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and great restaurant make up for this. Great sized rooms with a modern feel.

Loved this old hotel, the food was good. Great staff. The hotel needs maintenance in some places, but this did not spoil our visit.

Looks lovely from the outside, although not as impressive on the inside. All of the staff were amazing and friendly. The room was clean and big although it was quite far from the restaurant. We had to walk by an event and people were using a room for prayer which just felt a bit awkward. The bar is lovely. The restaurant was not for us. Tables are far too close together (we felt like we were in the Groupon naughty corner). Couldn't have a conversation without hearing or being heard by others. Food was ok albeit on a reduced menu.
Wouldn't recommend this place although I wouldn't say not to go either. Too big and busy for us!

We had a few issues with the deal we booked and some of the services available, our stay could have been disastrous without the hard work of some of the staff and their excellent customer services skills, a special mention and thank you to Ashden (sorry if spelt wrong) in the restaurant area, she was amazing and stopped a massive complaint from myself and husband coming. Children swim times were not manned very well - adults sat round the pool with no intention of swimming were including in capacity numbers and there was no real structure to how it ran, however another member of staff went above and beyond to make sure all families waiting received some swim time - sorry we didn't get his name. Only one person working on the smallest bar with a very poor attitude, too rigid and not accommodating of customers, she practically shouted at the lady before me for not having the right voucher?!?! I would stay again but I do feel some of their staff need a little more training in dealing with guests. Room and facilities lovely and nice touch with the animal hunt for younger guests.......although we all had fun doing that 😁

Went with a friend. Had a lovely spa afternoon, including afternoon tea. Would have liked the afternoon tea after we had used the facilities, though. Staff very friendly. Facilities clean and tidy. Sat outside afterwards and enjoyed the peace and quiet with a lovely bottle of wine. Had a lovely time. Would definitely return.

Lovely hotel. Staff went above and beyond for our wee girl. Very family friendly. Gorgeous grounds. Work being done in hotel to maintain this lovely old building. Would visit again!

Beautiful building that's grade 2 listed. Staff , amazing! Special shout outs to Sophie on reception, Molly in the restaurant who seved us a lovely dinner( I hope that's her name! Dark hair , glasses , ) who both went above and beyond to make our stay so good and memorable and also Azz who served us in the bar for our last refreshments before hitting the road.
