Had a fantastic day celebrating Mother’s Day at Mecure Dunkenhalgh. ABBA was amazing and a lovely afternoon tea that was served by a wonderful young lady called Katieliegh. She made us feel so welcome and nothing was any bother to her. Service with a smile and so polite. Thank you for a wonderful day.

Attended a function over the weekend. Sit down meal - which was amazing - then awards, the waiting on staff were amazing, attentive yet discreet. I can get a little confused on what I am meant to do in these formal settings however the waiting on staff put me and others at ease, contributing to it being a great success - thank you all but especially to Charlotte.
Hotel was clean and tidy and the spa was an excellent bonus. Breakfasts was plentiful and relaxed also.

We stayed here a few weeks ago for a Daniel O'Donnell event and our stay was lovely. The room was spacious and clean. Easy to get to and from our room as my Nan has mobility issues which having easy access to areas including toilets made our stay stress free. All staff members were polite and professional. When the bar had closed i asked for water and the barmaid called Mia was so lovely and even when she had a busy shift she was always smiling and geniuely interested in having a little chat which helps with having an enjoyable stay!

Wow, what a great stay, just spent the last 14 days staying at the Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Mercure. I had breakfast and dinner here every night and it was amazing the hospitality was outstanding. On our final night we through a celebration and the staff was unbelievable. I personally want to throw a shot out to Katieieigh, Lilly, Sean, Charile, Mike, Miqw, Edwena, Cain, daicie, Arica, THeo, Oriagh, Cari, John, Jack, Sara and Uiar. These guys not only made our celebration amazing, but their hard work throughout the stay was great. I look forward to coming back and enjoying another stay.

I stayed at dunkenhalgh one night only on 27th of February 2026 in reception the staff so helpful and friendly my room a little dated but comfortable the spare was great staying as a guest the facilities were free and well worth using .the meal i had (gammon steak) cooked to my liking the staff brilliant breakfast i thought was on the expensive side at £16-50 i thought the breakfast meal let the place down bacon over cooked sausage over cooked in fact the best part of the breakfast was scrambled egg would i go again yes I would but no breakfast

I just enjoyed a wonderful one night stay here with my boyfriend for his birthday. We spent the day doing the Tolkien hike and wanted to spend the evening extra special and relaxing after a long hike! The hotel and spa was wonderful. Though some areas of the hotel were a tiny bit dated, overall it was a really lovely stay and very relaxing. We especially loved the spa use that was offered alongside the swimming pool late into the evening, making it that bit more romantic! Although I wasn't keen on paying £7.50 to rent a robe and feel this should be included with your room. The staff were so lovely and attentive - especially Julia who welcomed us with a huge smile and was very welcoming upon arrival. She even upgraded our room for us which was a lovely touch. I'd definitely stay here again!

recently stayed at the hotel and was thoroughly impressed with the service especially from Arica. From the moment I checked in she was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Her attention to detail and willingness to assist with any request truly stood out. Arica's positive attitude and professionalism made a significant difference in my overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel due to the exceptional service provided by arica. The only downfall was the pool being freezing!!

My partner and I had a really enjoyable stay here and would definitely consider coming back. The hotel itself is set in a lovely building with plenty of character, which made it feel a bit more special than your average stay at any other Accor property. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed including quiet during the night but not too far from the hotels facilities.
The spa facilities were a great bonus and made the stay even more relaxing. Everything felt well maintained, and it was a nice place to unwind. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, which added to the overall experience. Leisure members also have access to the facilities as do hotel guests so it can get busy at times, but it does not take away from the overall experience.
The parking on site is free for leisure members & hotel customers with plenty of spaces which made getting parked and into the hotel very convenient. Just make sure you put in your registration plate in at the reception!
The bar staff, unfortunately I didn’t not get their names but they were extremely pleasant to talk with and be around. They gave us recommendations on their menu as well as directions to the spa facilities after we had our welcome drink.
Breakfast was also spacious and accommodating, plenty of options and pleasant staff. Vegan options are also available to order, the nice lady on breakfast helped my partner pick out vegan extras for her breakfast which was a refreshing experience compared to other hotels we have stayed at!
Overall, a great mix of comfort, atmosphere, and facilities, and a solid choice if you’re looking for somewhere a bit more relaxing to stay.

I went here for a spa day and massage. The spa facilities are perfectly adequate for the price but the massage was very very good. I will definitely be returning!

Stayed here a few times for work now - never had an issue - rooms are very nice, and have Nespresso machines in, and the beds are good quality, and the breakfast is lovely.

What a fantastic stay. Arrived at the hotel to find we had been upgraded for International Women's Day by Sarah and Emily in Reservations ( a lovely welcome card in the room also) Had a lovely swim in the pool and enjoyed a couple of drinks before a relaxing night in. Will definitely be back.

Came as part of our sister circle group for a day of spa treatments and food. I had an amazing shoulder abs back massage with hit stone treatment and it was was simply soooo relaxing. Food was lovely and as a group we had a most enjoyable day. Staff in both the spa and restaurant were so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend

Just enjoyed a stay here for an event and loved it. Such a nice getaway in the countryside. The spa is great, but the staff is what makes this hotel shine. Aziz and Lenny the wait staff are unbelievably kind. Sean the chef was awesome and the food is really fantastic 😍

Had a lovely spa day was my birthday and there was 3 of us, the staff were lovely , the treatment I had was tailored to my needs by the lovely Aleshia, she was so attentive and caring!
The swimming pool was just the right temperature and sauna and steam rooms were good!
The only disappointment was the afternoon tea, it had too much sweet things for me and sandwiches were not really good!
We were hungry and did eat most of it, as it was at 1.30 pm after having booked in at 10 am and had all treatments visited sauna and steam rooms, couldn’t use pool till later! Would have chosen a different meal imo!
But overall was ok!
