We had a lovely stay at the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa. Our room was clean, tidy and well looked after.
A special mention goes to the gentleman (from Tunisia) who worked at breakfast every morning. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, a true host! His warm and helpful attitude really made a difference to our mornings.
And a very special thank you to Lilly. What an absolute asset to the hotel! She was so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and really made our stay even more enjoyable.
We didn’t use the spa during our stay, so unfortunately we can’t comment on that.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would like to thank the staff for their wonderful hospitality!

Great experience whilst visiting for a company meeting. Tilly was the star of the show! She was absolutely amazing with customer service, making us laugh and generally making it an amazing experience!

This hotel is in such a lovely location and has great atmosphere. Our room had a nice little view of the garden and fields where the cows roamed. The staff were very lovely, friendly and accommodating. It seemed they couldn’t do enough and always on hand to help. The food was fabulous and so were our serving staff, especially Courtney, Carla and Tilly, who always greeted us with a smile and looked after us.
We were there for a ghost weekend and were not disappointed.
The spa was a nice addition but the ambiance in there wasn’t quite as expected. We did have time for a swim and jacuzzi but with a mixture of children splashing around and lane swimmers it didn’t quite hit the ‘spa’ experience, not that we were there for the spa, but I don’t think we’d go for a spa day for that reason. Each to their own of course. On the whole a great experience was enjoyed by us all!

We stayed at Mercure Blackburn as part of a work-related training trip, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish.
The hotel is beautiful, with lots of character and history, yet everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The cleaning service was outstanding — our room was spotless every day, with attention to every little corner. The whole hotel was incredibly clean despite being a historic building.
The food was absolutely fantastic — beautifully presented and incredibly well seasoned. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly prepared with care.
The hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful: friendly, professional and always happy to help. A special mention must go to Lilly, one of the waitresses. What an amazing person! She has such a great sense of humour and added so much laughter and fun to our dinner, while remaining incredibly professional, warm and attentive. Her “above and beyond” attitude made her truly unforgettable, and she is definitely someone we will remember and talk about for a long time.
There is also plenty of parking, which was a big plus during our work-related stay.

Had a lovely weekend here with the ghostly getaways group, Sean the head chef is a master, the food I had was delicious and delightfully presented, the rooms are clean and well organised infact everywhere is clean, the spa facilities is equally clean, every single member of staff is approachable and polite, Mia your a star thank you, 😊

We had our wedding here on Saturday, it was the most beautiful day. Jacqueline helped us plan it for months and she was exceptional from start to finish, with so much attention to detail and taking the stress out of our hands. The room looked absolutely stunning and all guests commented how amazing the day was. Jacqueline and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, she greeted us as we arrived and was on hand to help with anything we needed. Would highly recommend. Thanks everyone at Dunkenhalgh :)

A lovely hotel with good facilities, excellent food and staff. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. The hotel was well located for trips out. We were with a coach party and the overall trip was good value.

44 slightly older travellers, were on a coach trip to the Pennines & dales & stayed for four days at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the staff were exemplary. Our bags were delivered to our rooms by cheerful young men & collected at the end of our stay! Every one was pleased with their rooms & the standard of cleanliness, although some had a long walk to them!
All our meals were good thanks to Sean, the chef, with attentive, cheerful staff who made sure we were well looked after. Special thanks to Mia Rose, Carla, Kim, Wanla, Beyel, Mia I, Eden & Tina for whom nothing was too much trouble!

As a person with Coeliac disease, breakfast was very good, with staff attentive to my needs, Lenny deserves a special mention in helping me get what I needed. Thank you.

We’ve just come back from a lovely weekend at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa in Blackburn.
The setting was beautiful, the food was lovely, and every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful.
When we arrived, Sam checked us in. He very kindly upgraded us to a suite and was incredibly helpful, booking us a table for dinner and explaining everything we needed to know about breakfast and the spa facilities.
That evening we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Our waitress, Mia I, was absolutely brilliant — genuinely the best waitress we’ve ever had. She was so friendly and chatty, taking an interest in where we’d travelled from and what we were celebrating. We bumped into her again later that evening in the hotel, and she remembered us and stopped for another lovely chat. She was absolutely wonderful.
There was also a lady called Carla working during both the dinner and breakfast services, quietly making sure everyone had everything they needed. She was fantastic too and clearly worked incredibly hard.
After dinner, we took a walk around some of the older parts of the hotel and met the Head Chef, Shaun. He very kindly took some photographs of me and my husband on the staircase and shared some of the hotel’s history with us. We also chatted about a restaurant in our hometown where he knew the head chef. He was so kind and accommodating, and we really appreciated the time he took to speak with us.
All in all, everyone we met was wonderful and played a part in making our stay so enjoyable. We would definitely come back and would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

Checking in is always stress free and quick.
Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean.
Customer service in the restaurant is excellent, Aziz is welcoming, friendly always makes us feel special, but professional at the same time, nothing is too much trouble he sets an excellent standard of customer service for the rest of the team to follow.

From booking to check out my experience at this hotel has been fabulous. I initially booked a single room for 2 nights to attend a wedding close by, I later called reception to see if I could change to a twin room to allow my Auntie to share with me. This was dealt with quickly and easily with no extra charges. We were booked into room 51 in the court yard. I loved it, modern, comfy and perfect for our stay. There were two beds and a sofa bed. We didn't use the spa but others that stayed there did n enjoyed the experience. The best bit of our stay was Aziz in the restaurant. He was so welcoming, friendly and went over and above for all of our party. We made our trip! 5 * service. He was able to balance chatting and being friendly without being over bearing. The scrambled eggs had run out and he brought a bowl of freshly cooked eggs for my Auntie to the table. We had a fabulous stay!

The staff worked hard to accommodate our 4 night, half board, National Trust coach tour. Comfortable large, quiet bedroom, good choice of food and friendly bar area. A special shout out to the restaurant staff Courtney, Carla, Tilly, Teagan and Stuart.

We attended the dunkenhalgh as part of a coach party from start to finish we enjoyed every moment. What caught our eye in particular was our waitress Courtney. Nothing was ever to much for her we felt so comfortable asking. She made sure everything was perfect and never came without a smile. The beds are really comfortable and the building itself is beautiful. The food was fantastic and enjoyed hearing facts about the hotel. Thankyou again Courtney we shall hope to see you in the future.

We arrived here as part of mystery tour coach trip. On arrival we received a warm welcome and swiftly shown to our room. The hotel is vast and took a while to navigate. The spa facilities were superb. The restaurant was nicely set out. We were well looked after by the waiting staff. The meal and our chosen wine was exceptional. During our meal we were also looked after by Maitre D Stuart. His vast knowledge of wines was out of this world. Thank you Stuart for your recommendations. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. At breakfast we was looked after by Aziz who was very welcoming and helpful. Our overall stay was amazing. Memories made. Would definitely return.
