Comfortable, clean rooms with complimentary tea/coffee, and various beautifully smelling soaps in the bathroom. Bar and restaurant staffed by welcoming, attentive personnel. Food- glorious. Some issues I'm not impressed with- as an independent travel agent, this was known prior to my arrival, I handed my business card to the receptionist. She handed it back right away telling me she didn't need it. Really?? Advance notice to the hotel made them aware I was visiting because of a family gathering but I would be sharing my experience to followers and clients of mine. Eg there was a long delay over booking on arrival, and couple issues in the bedroom, all which should have been attended to prior to my arrival (confirmation of my booking received few weeks ago but i will be writing a complaint to management giving greater details about the problems encountered booking in). Lack of communication to guests about what is the 'usual' practice, if a guest's deal is B&B but they decided to have dinner and booked a table, is an unforgivable fauxpar. On this occasion, thinking the bill would be added to my room, I later found it wasnt- the guest was 'chased' to their room for payment by staff from the dining room (card reader in hand that didn't work!! Went outside into the courtyard with the member of dining staff, card reader still didn't work- was able to pay cash to reduce the levels of anxiety, irritation, frustration and embarrassment paying the bill for my meal outside my room, in full view and within ears of fellow guests. Disgusting and very poor practice). Would give this hotel another visit sometime and hope to see great improvement- the slight tweaks are easily carried out by the hotel in 'looking after the best interest of their clients!!

I received a voucher for an afternoon tea and spa. I arrived at 1:30 as I'd booked however it wasn't until 2:20pm till I got a drink then my afternoon tea arrived after this. The food was lovely though, the gym was great, the pool was busy with towels being left on sun loungers. Some things looked quite tired.
They kept my desserts for me so I could collect them after using the facilities which was great and I was asked if I would return again. I said I would - but when it's much less busier (maybe not booking too many people on the same time slot might help?).

Good hotel but it took us 5 minimum to walk from the reception to the room! We had young children so would have appreciated a room nearby rather literally at the end!
Overall an average hotel to stay! nothing special or extra ordinary. Only good thing was location

Rooms are a good size recently, which has been renovated, bath, and shower. Good WiFi TVs 55-inch all channels available. Very good conference facilities. Loads of parking. Good size bar and restaurant. Breakfast is good service and selection. Evening dinner menu could be improved poor selection. Front of house friendly and professional. Spar and pool added bonus.

Old lovely Hall, but needs more updating. Had a damp smell. Restaurant/bar looked nice, breakfast was disappointing. Our room seemed to be renovated. But bathroom had a leak and was missing knobs in shower. Parking and pool rules weren't explained clearly at checking. Kids 0-16 can only use pool at set times, 2 hrs early morning and 2 hrs early evening. Our most expensive hotel this holiday, but definitely wasn't worth the money.

Paid for an upgraded room with walk in shower and a desk space to work at. Original room given was a standard room which had mould covering the bathroom ceiling and above the bed. Bathroom extremely dated with broken tiles and the bedroom decor was also extremely poor.
Complained to reception about the room and they denied that an upgrade was booked until I showed them a personalised email from the booking team confirming the upgrade had been paid for.
Once the error had been proved they were very helpful in changing the room and the upgrade was certainly a massive improvement.
Will go back but only with room upgrade as the location is perfect for good connections to all main roads in the north.
