Brilliant little spa, the receptionist was lovely and friendly, showed us where everything was and explained where the treatment rooms were and got us a drink. The pool is quaint but relaxing and has a jacuzzi. The steam rooms were brilliant especially the aromatherapy and vapour ones. There are 2 cold showers if you're brave enough and a few extra saunas. There seemed to be a few blocked off in this room which would've been awesome to try as the available ones filled up quickly. The afternoon tea was tasty, thw finger sandwiches were awesome. Later we went for our treatments and I had my session with Stacy, she was amazing and I went home feeling pampered. All round a brilliant spa with everything you need for a relaxing day.

I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay over. But the spa staff were so lovely and friendly. They fit us in for treatments at such short notice. They were so helpful and accommodating. The treatments were wonderful and the pool and thermal suite was lovely. Such a wonderful experience. We also had lunch in the spa and it was delicious. Definitely recommend visiting here. We will stay over next.

Lovely hotel. Customer service was outstanding, every single staff member went out of their way to chat to us, or say hello. Special mention to the young lady on reception Arica, she was very chatty and helpful. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed somewhere where the staff were so lovely. Evening meal food was delicious. Lancashire hot pot meal was amazing. Great twist to the hot pot. Hotel is a bit of a maze but you soon get your bearings. Spa facilities good. We had a treatment , mine was just ok but my friend said hers was great.

There are a few minor faults in the room. Staff are very welcoming. The Spa, Pool and Gym are really good and worth a visit.

I was working close by and this hotel offered a great and affordable room price with a comfortable bed , blistering hot power shower , and the food prices in the resteraunt were very reasonable for the quality and taste of the food, the staff are so friendly and helpful , I am back tonight excellent guy keep it up. It's okay, I would say on par in Premier Inn. Overall seemed okay but some areas were a little dated. Would stay here again but would pay for an executive over standard to see any difference.

Had a 3 day stay with Spa treatment every day. The hotel is based in a renovated country house. It's a beautiful building and retains a lot of original features.
There are some areas of the building which need some touch ups, but these are only cosmetic and only in transit areas while moving around the hotel.
I was put in room 701....it is quite the walk from everything! Seriously it's the furthest room from the reception and also the restaurant and spa. It might be something to think about if you have mobility problems.
The restaurant was good, breakfast is buffet style and the quality was superb. I only ate there one night, because I wanted to try some local restaurants, but the food they served was excellent.
The spa experience is not something I have ever done before, but all the staff were great, and honestly felt so good after it. I didn't use the gym or sauna, but did try the pool and attached whirlpool. I don't swim often, but when I do I want to swim. The pool is maybe 15m long and has only lane separated for swimming. It was nice to sit in the water, but I would prefer a proper pool to swim in.
I would definitely return. Loved it here

Good food, good staff and we got a free upgrade on our room. Smaller rooms are not the best but executive and superior rooms are good.

Lovely place to stay, just pay attention to the very limited restaurant timings.

For someone who stays at the Dunkenhalgh on a regular basis, the treatment and service the staff provide is as good as it gets especially from Mia and Chloe behind the bar they extremely kind, helpful and go the extra mile

Stayed with my partner for the evening, from booking with Emily in Reservations, to the lovely food served and exceptional service throughout our stay. The room was great, with large comfy bed. Would definitely recommend this Hotel to others.

This was a very special and also spectacular stay. We always wanted to stay in such a hotel. It is absolutely amazing to be able to sleep in a building like this! We stayed in one of their suites - The DeLancy Suite - and it was very very nice! We liked the layout, the size and also the comfy furniture. Of course you need to remember in what kind of house you are, so e.g. the windows were not soundproof. But it was not loud outside so no problem at all. The stuff was very friendly and we especially want to thank the guy working at the bar who managed to add a shamrock in the foam of the Guinness. That was very impressive!
We also really enjoyed the pool and sauna area. It is really big and has very good opening times. It was good to be able to use it early in the morning and late in the evening.
Keep in mind that it is an old house and for a lot of the rooms you will have to take some stairs. The hotel is very close to the motorway and at some points you can hear it.

We stayed here because it was a haunted hotel with spa and a good price for a 4* hotel, Arica, was very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable of the history of the hotel itself, an employee that you find very few and far between! The maid staff were very good at topping up condiments and making sure our room was lovely for when we came back from visiting your beautiful surrounding locations. Overall good services except there was a large event which wasn’t staffed appropriately for causing us slight disappointment at the buffet breakfast. After we mentioned this to the manager he seemed to bring it up jokingly throughout the whole stay.

My husband and I got married here in 2016, and for our 9th anniversary we decided to come and spend the night to relive how it all began.
The hotel knew this was the reason for our return and added several nice touches as a result. They upgraded our booking to include the spa facilities, left a message on our mirror, decorated our bed with towel-swans and petals, and even decorated our table for the evening meal.
The room was large and comfortable (the bed on the firm side but that wasn't a problem for us) and the evening meal was good. The starters are absolutely enormous, however, so we cancelled the desserts as we simply had no room for them.
Breakfast was buffet style and found it all a little bland, with the scrambled eggs in particular being like a soup. I'm not entirely convinced I wasn't coming down with something, though, so the lack of taste may have been down to that.
The used the pool, various steam and sauna rooms, and found them all clean and uncrowded.
All in all we had a wonderful stay and very much enjoyed our walk down memory lane. We've visited off and on over the years and will no doubt be back again in the future.
Thanks to everyone who made our stay that little bit extra special.

Lovely location and fab grounds too. My husband and I went for a spa and treatment day. Hubby sang Stacey's praises after his body brush and I, can't sing Sarah C's praise enough for my body brush treatment. Both ladies were lovely and friendly and both made sure we had a great experience 10 out of 10 to both of them.
The spa has a heated swimming pool with a jacuzzi, and a range of saunas and steam rooms, each with a different therapeutic purpose, eg aromatherapy steam room, cant remember the others but they were great. Smashing powerful cold shower if you prefer instead of hot.

Staff were lovely and attentive, they ensured we knew where to go for the Spa, sat us down to have afternoon tea.
They included sandwiches, dainty cakes and scones.
Offered us fruit juices and a coffee each.
Then gave us a fluffy robe, slippers and towels
The pool and lounger area was clean and tidy.
Separate steam and sauna area was so pretty.
The only disappointment was the pool was quite cold and the jacuzzi is open in the pool so it was as cold.
They were lovely when we were leaving, they'd saved us the brownies that we couldn't eat and waved us goodbye.

Lovely old hotel, the rooms was a bit tired but nice clean - beds were very comfortable. The staff were also so welcoming and friendly.
It's not very good for people with disabilities as there is no lift. They guy at reception was helpful and got us a ground floor room which was nice.
The restaurant food that we had for our evening meal was amazing but breakfast wasn't up to much.
nice stay all in all

Stayed at Dunkenhalgh hotel & spa when celebrating our wedding anniversary. Excellent service by all staff we met, including check in/out, we dined in Cameo restaurant for dinner & breakfast & I also received a lovely relaxing spa treatment. Special mention to Anne & Kieran who were welcoming & helpful. Easy to get to as near to M65. Room spotless & bed very comfortable . Tea/coffee available in room & much appreciated. Good value & we look forward to visiting again. Would recommend this hotel .

Lovely hotel, but a shame about our evening meal. Steak not cooked to liking even when asked to cook some more as order well done and it was red. Service slow, felt meal was over priced for what we had. Spa staff where friendly and facilities were nice.
