Stayed here for my friends hen weekend through Ghostly Getaways, what a perfect setting!

We were made to feel so welcome by all the lovely, friendly staff. From Carla and Courtney serving our evening meals, to Aziz the breakfast superstar and Cayden on the bar.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable, a bit too hot - some Aircon would be a great update.
I would definitely stay here again!

Very good welcome and good bye from the staff, courteous, warm and professional. Exterior of the hotel is lovely, but the room needed some TLC. It was tired looking and worn in. Also, the room was far too hot and there didn’t appear to be any air conditioning available. Bed was very comfortable and shower room was fine.

What an absolutely fantastic weekend at Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, lively, and full of character — especially during the events throughout the weekend. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of history, and the perfect setting for our Pendle Witch Weekend and Claire’s hen celebration.
A huge thank you to the incredible staff who made our stay so memorable. Courtney, Carla, Aziz, Cayden, Eden, Oliver, Liam, Kelsey, and Mia were all amazing — friendly, professional, attentive, and always happy to help with a smile. Their hard work truly made a difference and nothing was too much trouble.
Special appreciation also goes to our wonderful hosts, Vicky and Helen, who organised such an unforgettable experience and kept the whole weekend running perfectly.
And of course, a massive thank you to Simon Entwistle, whose fascinating stories, knowledge, and passion for Pendle history brought the entire experience to life. Truly captivating from start to finish!

Came here on a overnight bus trip only thing that was a nuisance was we was a group of three ,we was put in rooms at opposite ends of hotel,that said the rooms were lovely and well thought out and comfortable food -dinner & breakfast couldn't fault really enjoyed stay here

Came to check in receptionist struggled to help me so pawned me off onto her colleague. What was meant to be a relaxing stay with my partner ended up with feeling like a problem for the receptionist (I think she was called Julie). Only redeeming factor was the receptionist we’d been pushed over to “Erica will help you if you want to go over to her” Erica (I hope that’s right) was dealing with all sorts of issues at the desk anything Julie deemed too much work for her it seems. Poor girl needs a break after all she went through.

Fabulous staff this weekend who looked after us all. Mal who was on the bar spoke so nicely to the other members of staff which was lovely to see. Carla and Eden were also superb and efficient with our 3 course meal. A well put together hotel and team work.

Stayed 2 nights for a conference held at the Hotel.
I was very impressed with the room, its standard of cleanliness and comfort.
The food was delicious both the à la carte menus the night before the conference and the event Dinner were brilliant. I’m always deeply impressed with a high standard of catering coupled with the food for 200 people being served so quickly, it felt simultaneously, especially when it is both delicious and served hot to the table! I must mention the Chef Sean, he impressed all of us.
It’s a great venue for conferences and they looked after us so well. Cheerful helpful staff throughout the hotel and I must call out the staff who kept the teas and coffees constantly fresh and tidy (The home made shortbread deserves a special call-out.) I asked for their name after being so well looked after for two days, special mention to Tina, Wanla, Vilma, Kim, Edwina, and Lenny.
The great experience started on arrival with Priya on reception. Problem solving and going out of his way to help me.
Everyone I’ve mentioned represented the Hotel so well, real care and attention to detail and going out of their way to be helpful and look after us. It was so lovely to benefit from such a good level of service, really made a difference and lots of other sponsors and delegates noticed the care.

Spotless room
Superb staff who are very attentive friendly and welcoming but also know when to step away to give you privacy
And the quality of the food is second to none I always look forward to my meals when I visit the Dunkenhalgh

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Great service from housekeeping. Very comfy bed. Room generally clean. Pool and Spa needs a little tlc pool wall above water level could be cleaner. Didn’t eat on site. Overall enjoyed the stay.

Stayed at the lovely dunkenhalgh hotel the week commencing 6th May 2026 from the moment I entered I was greeted by the lovely priya he made sure everything ran smoothly and easily.
Before entering the scenery bar and was served by the amazing bar tender Chloe, she gave me excellent service at the table which allowed me to relax after a long travel and even went out her way to explain everything on the bar menu as I am gluten free.
Later this evening, I dined in the restaurant and even just the settings was perfect before being directed to my table and served by a nice ladys named Courtney and Carla. Courtney went out of her way to speak to me about my plans for the week and overall did everything to make me feel comfortable.
I would just like to say thankyou dunkenhalgh and Id recommend this place in a heart beat.

This is a beautiful but now slightly dated hotel (single glazing so some M65 noise, no aircon, poor wifi when we visited) but with excellent service at breakfast, dinner, reception and throughout.
Please beware "offer" emails from Accor though - in our experience, these are usually just prepayments that don't actually give any discount, and hotel staff are not informed about what Accor are saying - the new computer system isn't currently helping. Staff even found and posted my wife's lost phone - we're relieved it arrived back OK without wrapping!
Overall, great place, food and folks, just be realistic about its age and the corporate comms...

Excellent location steeped in history, the newer executive room we stayed at was large and the bed comfortable. The meal and service were excellent the only that let the food down was the creme brulee custard was not set and the way it was handled. We told the waiter politely who passed the comment on to the chef and the waiter returned with the chefs comment 'thats the way its meant to be' we then proceeded to show the waiter the google definition of a creme brulee, which he conveyed to the chef. he then returned and said yes you we were correct and it hadnt set. It did ruin the stay and we concluded that the chef doesn't seem to handle criticism well, it certainly didnt have to involve what it took to get our point across, on this occasion the 'customer was right'.

Stayed for an overnight spa break. Had a lovely time, room was spacious and clean and Courtney gave us such fantastic service for our evening meal. Only thing that would’ve made it better is that the pool area was untidy. Lots of discarded paper cups. Other than that we had a fab time
