Lovely location and building with friendly staff. Getting a little dated and tired in places but still good

Nice hotel and and typical English country house. The food is good and the waiters full of attention. However, the courtyard rooms are a bit old and... cold.

Attended for Xmas party as part of work group, staff were attentive and happy. Food was OK, drinks are quite expensive we bought a package deal and had 10 bottles of beer in a bucket on the table which didn't keep them cold. Nice dance floor. Will be looking at somewhere else next year, but would go back again in the future.

I stay in A LOT of hotels for work but have stayed here for business and pleasure. This is one of the best. Clean rooms and easy parking. They think of the little things. Complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste, ironing board and iron in the room. Free wifi. Lots of hotels don't have these things, but it's the little things that make the big difference. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Beautiful building but pretty dated inside, could benefit from a makeover which would make this a fantastic destination

Lovely hotel but extortionate drink costs. Clld was ok but nothing special. Bar staff inexperienced so had to explain to barman how to make a G&T and it took forever

hotel is looking a bit tired in places now, doesn't seem to have changed much in the 14 years that I've been coming here for work.
Service in bar is terrible and slow!

A well presented hotel.
The courtyard rooms which we stayed in had character though a little outdated internally.
Included in the price is access to the gym and spa facilities which is a great bonus. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try them out. Would visit again if in the area.

Nice and clean. Decorated well with comfortable rooms. Food is great in the restaurant and the spa is good. Just some tiny details that prevent me from giving 5 stars. It's worth noting that it's not very exclusive as there are some swimming lessons running for children occasionally in the pool and the facilities are open to the public (which isn't really an issue) but may be a problem for some. Staff are very friendly and are more than happy to help and chat. The building itself is very impressive but I did notice a couple of places where a bit of basic maintenance would have lifted the overall presentation. I would also say the beer selection in the bar is not great. Overall me and my girlfriend have had a good relaxing break with no fuss or drama and having had our needs catered to. It was my first spa break so I don't have a great wealth of knowledge to draw from but the two inclusive treatments were nice (I chose the back and leg massages). I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a quick relaxing break in the Yorkshire/Lancashire area.

It's very nice from the moment you drive up the impressive driveway. The staff are friendly and professional and the service is always good. They have a gym and pool and nice bar area. The rooms are very nice also.

Hotel was nice. Lack of lobby and bar to get a drink was a setback. Room was nice, but we didn't have any tea making facilities, the plastic cups in the bathroom were broken so was left thirsty in the room. Would stay again though if needed

Beautiful place, looks like a luxurious castle. Very spacious with all necessary facilities. Highly recommended for a stay if you're looking for the great service and accommodation.
