A wonderful day from start to finish....thanks to Sam for his assistance beforehand and the lovely welcome upon arrival, to Ann for the afternoon tea/prosecco and membership information, and to Andrea for the relaxing treatments....the whole experience was just what I needed. I look forward to seeing you all again.

We enjoyed a pleasant two night break here in this lovely historic hotel set in mature well kept grounds. It is very convenient for the M65 motorway at junction 7 and is only 10 minutes or so from Blackburn. We had a courtyard room which had been modernised fairly recently and it was of a good size and equipped as you would expect. Linens were new and the bed was very comfortable. We would be happy to stay here again.

Lovely place, beautiful building, nice swimming pool and really friendly , helpful staff. My rating was down as food wasn’t great. We were on two days conference , lunch was average but bbq was not eatable . Burgers tasted like a paper , chips were cold. Also on the upper floors rooms had a bit dumpy smell and some dump on the ceilings. Generally, With some improvements place has a lots of potential so fingers crossed.

I booked this lovely hotel through a deal with my hotel break.com which was great value. It was my wife’s birthday & I arranged to have wine& chocolates put in the room, I also paid a little extra to upgrade to a privalage room. The wine & chocolates were good quality and the room was excellent, clean spacious with a lovely bed . The staff in this hotel are absolutely amazing, everyone of them are kind and can’t do enough for you from reception, restaurant bar and cleaners.the evening meal and breakfast were very good with plenty of choice. I can definitely recommend this hotel and will return again when in the area, Thankyou for making my wife’s surprise birthday such a wonderful visit

The event was wonderful, the room was amazing. What made the do was Edwina, her management and people skills are amazing. It made the night run so smoothly.
I cannot thank her enough, she is a great asset to this hotel.
The food was brilliant, not just the function 4 course meal, but the breakfast, and the evening meal was superb.
The function rooms in the hotel were fab, our hotel room was not that great. No hot water in the sink for the last day of our trip, but the shower was fine.
That part of the hotel looked tired and in need of some tlc, but the reception, the grounds, the spa facilites and pool are amazing and made up for the room.

The hotel was easy to find and there is ample parking.

When we arrived at reception there was a wedding party that were very excited and making lots of noise. I really couldn't hear and so Emily stepped outside with me to take my details.
The group cleared and both Emily and Victoria were fabulous. They really did go the extra mile. They also set a high standard for other staff to match.
Staff really do excel in the hotel. Joseph in the restaurant maintained the high standard and we were served by Kyle who was so pleasant and smiling.
A lot of hotels could learn from the fabulous staff that are here.

Our room was large and it served it's purpose. Unfortunately, it didn't give me anything to think 'wow'. My wife had some issues with the bed linen and this was dealt with very efficiently by the staff.

We ate in the restaurant and service was outstanding.

There is a spa and a swimming pool. It is worth checking beforehand if there are any classes on if you want to use the pool.

First visit and our first impressions were good. Warm welcome and friendly check in. Plenty of free parking and hotel has lovely grounds.

Our room was very modern and had everything, toiletries, fluffy towels, large tv, tea, coffee etc.

The SPA was good, but unfortunately the sauna was out of action. Plenty of loungers around the pool and there is a comfortable seating area in the SPA reception.

The highlight of this hotel is the variety and quality of food in the restaurant. The service provided by Krishna and Sara was exceptional. a HUGE well done! The dining area had lovely decor and a nice ambience.

However, the breakfast was a little bit disappointing compared to the standard of the evening meal.

The eggs were over cooked, there was no selection of hams or cheeses. The black pudding wasn’t particularly good. It might be a better experience if the hot breakfast was cooked to order.

We had a small issue with our room, but this was quickly resolved by Emily in reception.

All in all a nice hotel, with friendly staff, and we had an enjoyable stay.

We have had a lovely stay at this historic hotel.Parking charges have been suspended (what hotel charges patrons to park anyway?)Check in was faultless. The room was massive with all you could want with robes ,coffee machine, lovely bed and massive tv.Evening meal was very nice.Attentive staff and plenty of choice..the only real problem of the day was the quality of the wine.In 2022 if you are staying at a hotel saying its 4 star you should be able to confidently say "a glass of the house white please"then you get charged £6.50 which is ok for that kind of venue but as soon as you taste the utter rubbish they are serving that's all you remember of your stay...not the courteous waiters..not the crenalations on the walls..not the lovely miles wide bed....just the bloody awful over priced spanish table wine that you are ripping people off with. Its not necessary.

Visited using a dinner bed and breakfast offer. Room was recently renovated. Shower fantastic. Complimentary coffee pods was a lovely touch. Robes provided. We used the pool which sensibly had a lane for swimming. The best bit of our trip was the restaurant. Staff were friendly and very efficient. The food was delicious especially the meze board, ham hock terrine, butternut Wellington and sweet potato salad. First rate.

The post code takes you the wrong way at the lights. A large notice board at the lights would be helpful. Check-in was very quick and easy. Our room was on the first floor but very easy to find. Room was spacious and well furnished. View from window was of the courtyard garden. Breakfast buffet was very good, staff serving first morning and help yourself second. Both evenings in the restaurant the service was very good, with plenty of choices and well presented.
The location of the hotel is very good with plenty of places to visit. Did not have time to visit the spa but would the next visit.

Stayed 1 night and we found it enjoyable, we were upgraded to an executive room & found it clean, very comfy bed & nice en suite. & very quiet. Maybe the bad reviews is that the standard rooms don't come up to scratch. There was a Jewish wedding on at the same time & it was enjoyable to watch.
Breakfast was very good but as usual with buffets some of the food can be warm.
Although they say they have acres of land a great deal of them is covered by car parks.

Stayed at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel on Saturday evening with my Husband for our Wedding Anniversary. We had such a wonderful stay! Easy parking, Reception staff greeted us with lovely smiles and made us feel welcome. We stayed in one of the bigger Courtyard rooms it was spotlessly clean with a lovely exec spec to it. Hats off to the Housekeeping team for the lovely touches they added that greeted us when we arrived. The room was lovely and cosy with its lighting and very quiet during the night which gave us a lovely night's sleep. Thank you to all the staff we had a brilliant stay.

We visited from 9th May to 13th May as part of a coach trip. My husband was taken ill and then was admitted to hospital. The staff were all so helpful and kind. It was a very stressful time but was made more bearable due to the support we received. A great big gold star awarded to all if them.

After visiting at Christmas, we booked for our family to celebrate a significant birthday! The staff at the Dunkenhalgh make this hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and spotless, the food is amazing, the staff can’t do enough! Thank you to the hotel manager and all the staff. You go above and beyond! Highly recommended and can’t wait to return!

Hotel a little tired in places however some of the staff are amazing!! We had an executive room and it was very spacious and clean. The restaurant and bar had a makeover recently so they were pleasant as well. Buffett breakfast was a bit slow as they are still serving you the hot food and only one serving so queues were long at times. Young staff that needed organising but the managers worked hard. Second day at breakfast we didn’t even get asked about if we wanted tea or coffee. We were there for a wedding and the food was great. One of the staff that I think was called Ashton really made an effort to engage with us and I would hire her in a heart beat!!

We stayed at the Dunkenhalgh for two nights and from the moment we arrived at reception we knew we’d made a good choice. The staff were very efficient and welcoming. There was no charge for parking so we invested it in wine with dinner! Our room was spacious, modern and very clean. Comfortable beds, flat screen t.v. And even a Nespresso machine with capsules, also kettle and tea/instant coffee.

Dinner in the restaurant was great food served quickly and hot. ( do try the steak pie, it’s to die for!) The staff in the restaurant, without exception, are lovely people, very efficient but always a nice smile and a chat. In the bar there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere, once again service was spot on! A little tip for wine drinkers, buy by the bottle and not glass, it’s cost effective! We met Shailesh who served us both at dinner and the next day in the bar. He remembered us and we had a nice chat, a very interesting young man who knows his craft very well.

The Spa did not disappoint. We always like to swim and this is a lovely pool. Once again staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We’ve never come across such consistency with staff members, could be great training or just Lancastrians, or a mixture?

All in all a perfect stay and, without doubt, we shall be staying again. Many thanks all at the Dunkenhalgh.

Over 20 of us were meeting up for a reunion as it was over 50 years since we had gone to Tanzania together. Some of the group hadn't seen each other since then! The reunion should have been in 2020 but it was delayed due to Covid19 restrictions. As organiser of the reunion I cannot fault the hotel in any way. In fact Natalie the Events Manager and her team were quite exceptional. They kept in contact with me throughout the planning process and were so very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for this team. They really listened and suggested things to make the event even better. We were given a side room in the restaurant where the food and service were excellent. It was very good value too. On the final night we had a Gala Dinner in the Portrait Room which was superb. The staff were very adaptable and thorough in every aspect from IT equipment, seating plans, food and service allowing time for speeches etc. The facilities in the hotel were very good too including an excellent gym and swimming pool and we made good use of the friendly bar. If you are planning an event like this I would definately recommend this venue. It could not have been any better. We left with sweet memories.

We stayed here for two nights in May 2022 and had a great time. The staff were very friendly, the room was huge and was well furnished with modern furniture. The food in the restaurant was really excellent and great value. But the hotel management do need to update the terms of their special offers ... there is actually NO CHARGE for parking and the DBB special rate included a full three course meal. We shall definitely be back. Readers should ignore the very critical reviews ...... they must be comparing Dunkenhalgh Hotel with a five star Ritz experience?

Lovely hotel pleasant staff room and bed very comfy even if we did get bitten whilst staying here. Disappointed at breakfast as no brown sauce available and waitress was a bit curt when we asked for some. Had to request parking refund a week later which was dealt with immediately excellent service.

Myself and my wife stayed for one night (8/5/2022.
The hotel is lovely and all the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. A special mention to one of the waitresses Amy, very polite and friendly thank you Amy.
The food was really nice, drinks aren’t over priced.
When we checked out we had booked into the spa and we both had a massage…again all the staff in the spa were really nice and friendly.
We would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a relaxed atmosphere in lovely surroundings. We will Definitely be back thank you.
