Great stay on a veteran weekend. The staff were exceptional and the location was perfect . We used the spa facilities. Swimming pool,steam rooms and sauna. Relaxed weekend with friends and nice people. The staff that deserve special praise are Carla,Sophia,Mia Rose and the ever smiling chatty Aziz. Thanks for a great stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I was particularly thrilled with my room for the size, comfort, cleanliness, decor & everything you could possibly need was provided. All the staff were very friendly & helpful but I want to make a special mention of Carla, Kim, Wanla, Mia, Mia Rose & Tilly. These young ladies waited on us at mealtimes & provided us with excellent service.

Wonderful weekend with Ghostly Getaways! The girls running the event are amazing, our room was perfect and the girls that were serving us were lovely. Over the two nights we were served by Courtney, Tilly and Caria who were the most polite and wonderful girls I wanted to make a special shout out to Courtney as her energy and vibe was incredible! The food was lovely too!

All team members during our stay have been incredibly friendly and professional. Courtney's customer service was exceptional and she went above and beyond.

Had such an amazing time here while taking part in the ghostly getaways pendle trip. I have to say the waitresses werw exceptional i have to mention Courtney especially. She was such a sweetheart

Here for the pendle witch weekend with ghostly getaways, brilliant weekend, rooms were lovely, comfy beds and nice spa facilities. Fantastic food and a special mention to Courtney who served us food. All the staff were great.

Here for a ghost hunting event staff were absolutely fabulous. Courtney, Carla, and Tilly were amazing, looked after us brilliantly both evenings.

My mother and I booked a spa treatment, evening meal and overnight stay at the hotel, and from start to finish the whole experience was exceptional.

From the moment we phoned on our way to ask about parking and checking in for the spa, we were met with polite, friendly and clear guidance from Julia. The spa itself was calm and welcoming, and the staff (Ellie and Sarah) took such good care of us, and gave us an excellent massage and facial. Afterwards, the manager, Priya, personally showed us to our room and made sure we were completely comfortable and happy.

The evening restaurant experience was the real highlight. From the moment we sat down, we both felt incredibly welcome, relaxed and well looked after. We each asked for an off-menu cocktail and mocktail and were met with enthusiasm, knowledge and a genuine eagerness to create exactly what we wanted by Sara, who was absolutely wonderful and made us feel like royalty throughout the entire evening.

Amanda, one of our waitresses, also took fantastic care of us. Despite the restaurant being very busy, she remained calm, professional and friendly, and made us feel as though nothing was too much trouble.

The food was phenomenal. It was far more than simply a great meal; it was a genuine dining experience. Every mouthful seemed to reveal another depth of flavour, with each dish beautifully presented, perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. At one point we actually said to each other, “This food needs to be savoured, not just eaten.”

We had the hog terrine, soup of the day, braised beef and pan-baked salmon. These are all dishes we have tried in one form or another before, but never anything quite as spectacular as this. Honestly some of the best food we've ever eaten, Michelin standard!

Towards the end of the meal, with drinks and desserts still to enjoy, my mother began to feel faint and needed to return to her room. The lovely Mia (I) brought us a tray with everything we had left and accompanied us back while I helped my mother. She made sure Mum was alright and kindly reassured her that she could call reception for absolutely anything she might need. Her caring manner and warm smile meant a great deal to us.

All in all, we had the most wonderful, relaxing and luxurious experience in a beautifully presented and immaculately run hotel. The level of care, attention and hospitality we received throughout our stay was outstanding, and we genuinely felt like royalty.

I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Hotel was excellent and the spa was great, however, the WiFi is terrible and the signal isnt great for 5G use.
The real highlight is the restaurant and the waitresses are excellent, particularly Lilly and Courtney. The were a real highlight of our stay.

An sich schönes Hotel mit grossem Dreibettzimmer und 2 Doppelbettem. Wir hatten das Pech, an einem Wochenende mit drei Hochzeiten und entsprechendem Lärm dort zu sein. Später abends wurde es allerdings ruhig.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for the last four weeks, and today Julia was very helpful. She helped me choose a really nice room and gave me all the information I needed. She was friendly, professional and made everything easy for me. Thank you, Julia!

Lovely hotel but the service wasn't great. We stayed two nights for a friend's wedding.
We couldn't get get through to room service, after an hour of trying we ended up ordering a takeaway to the room. We had two hungry children both with dairy allergies, there were very little options for them in the menu.
Reception wasn't staffed well and there was always a que or no one there.
My friend had been provided a dj for their wedding by the hotel, he was refusing to play requests and would only stick to the dedicated list.
The staff also didn't provide dairy free meals for my children after it had been requested, we ended up having to ask for a bowl of fries for them.
Although, there was some good factors, some of the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was good and the family room we had was in a quiet area of the hotel which we were thankful for as there was 3 events happening in the hotel.

Had a fantastic stay at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa! The historic manor grounds are stunning.

We had our wedding here on Saturday 15th August. Jacqueline was our wedding planner and I cannot praise her enough. She came into the role a couple of months before our big day and she hit the floor running. Her communication, dedication and empathy made our special day the best it could be. She took all the stress away and was easy to approach with any concerns. On the day the team we had were amazing. Reception was on hand for any of our guests and with getting our vendors to where they needed to be without asking.

We did stay a couple of nights before hand and on the Friday night had a arranged a small gathering for drinks. Oliver was working the bar that evening and was going above and beyond to make sure all guests had what they wanted and every order came with a smile.

Jacqueline had the lovely Mia working with her on the Saturday and them ladies got their steps in. Nothing was too much for them and because of them, everything went smoothly with very little input from us which was a massive help.

Part of the staff I got to meet on the 15th August was Ben, Mal and Oliver. These 3 gentleman were amazing and all my guests were so impressed by the service they provided. They were warm and welcoming and very quick to sort anything out for us.

There was more people in the team that helped on our special day but I didn't get the names of them.

The rooms were great sizes and very comfy. It was very warm one evening and reception was able to get us all plug in fans to help with the heat. The breakfast had plenty of options and was very tasty.

Overall we had the most amazing stay and wedding. Plus we've only had positive feedback from all our guests about the staff and hotel.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the above named and hope you get recognised for the hard work you provided us.

I would definitely recommend to family and friends whether its for a cheeky getaway or for an event.

Visited as part of a ghostly getaways weekend, room was clean and in a quiet courtyard location, food was excellent, spa facilities were good, however changing room cleanliness standards had lowered by 5pm maybe due to lots of other guests, only one toilet working in spa area and lots of lockers broken, maybe its due an update in there. Staff throughout were excellent, especially Courtney, Kim, wania and aziz who seamlessly served our meals with such friendliness and brought a lovely positive attitude into the dining room.

For anyone thinking of booking their wedding here, DO IT!
We had our wedding reception here and honestly don't have one complaint.
Every single member of staff were attentive from the moment I arrived the day before, until we left 2 days later. We were made to feel really special, attended to and checked in with throughout. They really did go the extra mile with nothing too much trouble.
A special mention to our wedding coordinator, Jacqueline who went through the details with a fine tooth comb, as often as we needed.. no wonder it all ran so smoothly! She has been incredible throughout!

We got married at the dunkenhalgh on the 28th of August 2026 in the townley suite.

We had Jaqueline as our wedding coordinator and she was amazing. Nothing was ever too much. From booking to the wedding day was smooth. She even rocked my 11 month old whilst I was getting married. She made sure everything ran smoothly and was checking in with me whilst getting ready to see if I needed anything. Nothing was ever too much to ask.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere was really welcoming. Our bridal suite was clean.

In a whole we had a beautiful day, but a big thank you to Jaqueline who made everything run smoothly and made sure we was happy and confident with the wedding venue we had chosen.
