Had a great spalding day with afternoon tea. Good value for money. Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Lovely pool with jacuzzi . Two steam rooms , sauna and zen room. We had a massage but they offer different treatments. All and all a great afternoon out.

Excellent corporate & holiday country house in Blackburn. Thg food in the restaurant is excellent. More basic good traditional food served in the bar.
Avoid rooms 60 + in the end of the courtyard. Smart friendly staff. Nice grounds ample parking.

As a beauty club and leisure member I visit the Dunkenhalgh 4-5 days a week. I love Ella’s special treatments and Demi is a delightful staff member. Demi is always pleasant and willing to help and is most efficient. She has a lovely personality and is a well loved member of staff especially among the aqua ladies. Well done Demi.

Recently stayed here for the start of our honeymoon. Priya who checked us in was incredibly professional and helpful. On the way to our room we got a bit lost and another staff member promptly helped us with our bags and showed us to our room. The room was huge, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Lovely place to stay with some amazing countryside to explore.

Well, this hotel has a rich history and it’s huge as it used to be a castle 🏰
It may seem old but recently they have done a lots of renovation.
It’s a quite a nice swimming pool and gym will impress you even more!!
You can also take advantage of free spa and Sauna.
Breakfast was okayish and for dinner, I can’t say but I heard it’s not one of the best.
However, there are multiple restaurants are available nearby.

Beautiful building in a convenient location. Lovely restaurant and spa facilities on site ans staff very pleasantand friendly. The rooms are nice but some area looking a little tired, my bathroom shower head leaked and the curtains didn't fit properly so room was not very dark at night.

We stayed at the hotel after a military ball. The staff were very helpful, especially Priaya on reception and Isobel who was a member of the waiting on team. Our room was spacious and the comfortable beds helped us have a good night's sleep.

A gathering of about 250 folk for a dinner and dancing.
A well oiled machine with excellently trained staff starting with booking in. Sam was very efficient and answered any queries. He sorted a room service issue without problem.
The hotel is like a rabbit warren so, having got lost on the way to my room initially, I came across Neil, duty manager, who took my case and escorted me to the room.
The room was very comfortable and spacious with a modernised bathroom with bath and separate shower.
The function was extremely well catered for. The staff friendly and efficient.
We used the gym, pool, sauna and steam room in the morning. Superb facilities. It’s like a tardis! Pool large enough for laps with cordoned off area. The gym has different rooms with ample equipment.
Breakfast was a good quality buffet. Short staffed but the coped very well. Melody was very attentive. Great coffee machine. Chef Sara made me a really delicious cheese and mushroom omelette on request.
Sadly we were only there for one night but we would return for a longer break.
Thank you to all the staff.

Booked for two nights, rooms nice size with onsuite bathroom, iron & ironing board with plenty of other services you could use if wanted, good choice of options for breakfast but would advise people to get there hot drinks before going to get their choice of food from the self service breakfast bar, bit pricey but still good food.

Been several times in the past. Hotel has had an upgrade. Lovely large room.
Organised prepaid evening meal and breakfast.
Evening meal menu was extremely limited. Chicken, chicken and burger. Two choices of starters as one had sold out.
Staff lovely as usual.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for several days. I brought a group of 30 people.
The hotel was almost full, but the staff amazed me with their efficiency, understanding, and patience. Priya and Semoyad, in particular, were very helpful. The same was true of the hotel restaurant. Under the management of Ms. Edwin, Sara, and Mr. Aziz, everything was top-notch.
The food was very tasty and served on time.
A very pleasant stay.
Thank you to all the staff.

I have been a returning customer for the last 7 years and have a strong fondness of this beautiful place.
My most recent review isn't so great as I'd like it to have been but I would think that overall my review is good and shouldn't deter people from staying here.
Unfortunately during this stay it was primarily the maintenance team and management that tainted our experience.
Upon entering our room, we quickly realised none of the lights worked. Speaking as an electrician I can confirm that this is because the 3 switches for them had been wired incorrectly. This must be done by a competent electrician who knows what they are doing. Whoever wired room 69, clearly didn't know what they were doing.
Ultimately this fault was not rectified during our 3 night stay.
Additionally the toilet seat wasn't attached on one side and again this was not rectified for the duriation of our stay, despite 3 managers being involved in our complaint. We were only offered a change of room on the 3rd time of raising it on our last night, which we decided was more inconvenient than making do as we were for just a few more hours.
We were also very let down by the quality of cleaning of the bathroom this time. Long clumps of hair were still on the wall and in the plug hole. Also the shower hose was absolutely disgusting. It was black with grime that came off in our hands when we touched it. This was very unpleasant.
Thankfully the shower hose, was something that was quickly rectified morales immediately.
Now the 3 managers we spoke with were polite, apologetic and did try to put things right. However, apart from the hose, nothing was done.
Beyond these issues with our room, we were sad to see more of the spa facilities removed, including rooms they actually use in their advertising. The mens changing rooms were in a poor state, towel hooks broke, door handles snapped off, 3 showers not working properly out of 6 (only 1 sign posted), lots of the grout and sealant was mouldy and or broken/missing.
A significant amount of TLC needed here.
Okay, that is the moan over now for the good parts...
The front line reception staff and especially a mention for the usual gentleman hosting Breakfast (I think his name is Aziz - he has been there for 20 years I think now), they are all lovely, genuinely caring people and I belive they take pride in their work and Dunkenhalgh.
The gymnasium is fantastically equipped and if you want a hotel with a good gym, you won't be displeased with this as a great choice. It is clean, well kept and comprehensive.
The Spa, although no longer as wondeful as it once was, it is still a beautiful edition at a limited extra cost 2 steam rooms, a sauna and cool down room. They were clean and in good condition. We also appreciated the temperature of the main pool as it wasn't uncomfortably cold as we often find in other places.
The restaurant and bar offer a good compliment of drinks and food and as you may expect, at a premium hotel price hike. The food quality was good and presented well. It would have been good to have a room service menu in the room though.
Breakfast was very good. A great range, a good toaster (yes these thing make a difference, belive me) and good units for distribution of the jams and spreads. Eggs were made fresh and with haste and the additional little things like intercontinental meats, cheeses and melons etc add a more quality touch to the meal.
£16.50 per person was acceptable for the wide spread and good quality. Again the host was a friendly reminder of good customer service here.
During our stay there was a car show over the weekend so the hotel was busy and car park full. This didn't negatively impact our stay apart from the small headache of searching for a suitable car park space as more than half of it was covered in show cars.
There may be a further update to this review as we are still waiting for the management team to put it right for the problems we experienced during our stay. We feel that the approach so far has been lacking the right level of remedy.
