My stay at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa was truly exceptional from start to finish, and I am more than happy to give this wonderful hotel a full five-star rating. The setting was peaceful, the atmosphere relaxing, and every part of the hotel felt beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed to create a memorable experience. The spa facilities were calming and luxurious, and the overall environment made it easy to unwind.
However, what truly elevated my stay and made it unforgettable was meeting Arica, a remarkable 20-year-old staff member whose customer service is genuinely beyond words. From the moment I arrived, she welcomed me with a warm smile and a level of kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism that immediately set her apart. Arica has a natural ability to make guests feel comfortable, valued, and appreciated. She went above and beyond in every interaction, ensuring every detail was perfect and offering help with genuine care.

Really enjoyed our recent spa weekend - excellent dinner and breakfast, clean and comfy room (we were upgraded!) And a lovely massage and spa experience. Only thing is it's quite close to a big road so was quite loud, but very easy to get to from the motorway! We'll be back!

I was stuck in a booking issue and after a tremendously exhausting back and forth conversation with the 3rd party company i managed to contact Demi. She was brilliant, sorted my issue out in seconds and saved me a lot of money. I could not thank her more for her help. I was close to cancelling my bookings until i got through to Demi and I hope the spa is happy that she was so lovely i decided to keep the booking!

Lovely stay from start to finish! Staff are outstanding. We stayed for one night 29/11/25 for my birthday and got a complimentary room upgrade and discount on drinks. The hotel had been decorated head to toe for Christmas which was lovely! Will definitely be going back.

We have just been for a couples spa day! This was one of the best spa experiences iv had.
The welcome from the wonder full reception was the perfect start.
All our dietary requirements where met for the afternoon tea, the pool was clean and not to busy, now the treatments….. Sarah C is incredible…. My facial with head massage was utterly brilliant! My partner had a wonderful back neck and shoulder with Mia he added the best massage he has had and we frequently go to spas so highly recommended.
We will be back every month now.

Hotel looked nice from the outside. We felt the reception staff were a bit rude; they tried to charge us for a room we had already paid for when we asked to add breakfast on and were not hugely apologetic for the oversight.
We had one of the executive rooms. The size was good and the room was fairly clean but there was an overwhelming smell of fresh paint. We had to open all windows to alleviate the smell which isn't ideal in winter. Luckily the heating was very effective so we kept that on.
Upon showering, we found that the water didn't drain quickly enough and the wet room floor filled up considerably leaving us standing in water whilst showering; not ideal.
Breakfast was good, nice amount of choice and everything was laid out clearly.

Had a 3 day stay with Spa treatment every day. The hotel is based in a renovated country house. It's a beautiful building and retains a lot of original features.
There are some areas of the building which need some touch ups, but these are only cosmetic and only in transit areas while moving around the hotel.
I was put in room 701....it is quite the walk from everything! Seriously it's the furthest room from the reception and also the restaurant and spa. It might be something to think about if you have mobility problems.
The restaurant was good, breakfast is buffet style and the quality was superb. I only ate there one night, because I wanted to try some local restaurants, but the food they served was excellent.
The spa experience is not something I have ever done before, but all the staff were great, and honestly felt so good after it. I didn't use the gym or sauna, but did try the pool and attached whirlpool. I don't swim often, but when I do I want to swim. The pool is maybe 15m long and has only lane separated for swimming. It was nice to sit in the water, but I would prefer a proper pool to swim in.
I would definitely return. Loved it here
