Don't be put off from the outside, its like a tardis inside and spotlessly clean. I've been coming here for about 18 years now and always leave satisfied. The barbecue has recently been extended and the chicken tikka is the best you will find any where, really nice with their own made chilli sauce. Curries, rice, naans and massala fries are all really tasty. I had lamb jalfrezi and the meat just melted in your mouth, my wife had chicken tikka madras and that was also excellent. Seriously though if you find fault with the food here theres something seriously wrong with you as its simpy the best. I would also suggest trying suky's, its owned by the same family so food is excellent but more contemporary restaurant. Just a matter of time before we return !

I must admit, I am massive fan of the Vine. When my parents first took me here a few years ago, I loved the back room with the concrete floor and the amazing bbq, as it felt like a real hidden gem. Now its refurbished, its looking great and I think that the Vine has got a winning combination of food, charm and prices. To be honest, I have never tried the curry, as I am obsessed with the bbq. The chicken wings are the best I have ever had, and a friend who had lived in the USA said that they were better than most of the wing houses in the south he had eaten in. I have read some reviews where people have moaned about the guys on the bbq not being overly friendly. This is utter tosh and part of the charm! Trying to get a smile out of the old boy on the bbq is my favourite game and usually I succeed! The bar staff and the waitresses are great and they always accommodate you regardless of your party size. Overall, what I love about the Vine is the buzz of the place, with people of all ages having a laugh and eating great food. Keep up the great work guys and I will continue to bring all my friends from around the globe to chomp on your wings and ribs!

Let's get the bad bit over with first. The Vine is no looker from the outside, it's not in the best area and it looks like an old rundown pub but we had heard how good the food was so ventured in anyway. Inside it couldn't be more different, it has a real traditional pub feel at the front before opening out into a large extension at the back which is far more modern but still comfortable. Me and my mate visited at lunchtime and opted for the barmaids recommendation of the mixed lunch platter, or 'one of everything' as she put it. We got a large plate with Chicken Tikka, Methi Tikka, Tawa, Shaslik, Kashmiri and Sheek Kebab, along with a pot of fiery sauce and chips. All the different meats offered something different but all were well cooked and tasted great, with that real bbq taste you'd expect. Along with the chips it was a pretty big portion that left two lads with big appetites full up. Along with 2 pints it worked out as just over £8 each, pretty much a bargain in a world of chain pubs that microwave everything.

Just got back from watching my team, Cardiff City, play at West Brom and before the match we visited the Vine. Very friendly welcome for us, good beer, good food and plenty of parking.
Would not hesitate to recommend the pub to any visiting football supporter.

Cheap, good indian food with a very wide choice. A very popular place with the locals. Don't be put off by the appearance

We have been eating at the Vine for over 30 years. The food is good and the pub was "no frills" but it has been updated in recent times. I would recommend the barbeque. It is excellent.
If you enjoy good food at a reasonable price this is the place to go. We often go with our son, daughter and family and would recommend it.

A great pub once you are inside it is amazing the curry goat is to die for one of the only places to serve Indian curry goat it is a little pricey but it is worth the price... The BBQ is amazing freshly cooked and food not too spicy... Drinks are good value and the cobra is amazing on tap

Love this place.
Looks like a no frills boozer from the outside but once you step through the doors you are welcomed by the friendly staff and the smell of the gorgeous food this place has to offer.
The refurb in the back room has been money well spent and the place is always kept clean and tidy.
Great quality, Very reasonably priced food and drink, great staff, Indian BBQ at its best.
Have been here many times over the years and introduced family / friends will continue to do so.
Keep up the good work :)

Tucked away in West Bromwich and sitting on the corner of a quiet back street sits a small pub. It looks nothing from the front, its small and old, but step inside and you will be rewarded for your endeavor. At first glance the pub looks to be a typical old back street boozer, but as you step inside it just goes on and on, till eventually you reach a fully equipped barbecue area.
To reach the barbecue you will need to pass a fully stocked bar where friendly staff are able to offer first class ales - very nice too. By then you will also have noticed a range of blackboards listing an mouthwatering range of Indian dishes.
I had the goat curry with rice. Generous portions and a taste than will definitely need to be experienced again in the very near future.
Well worth a visit and not too hard on the pocket, but please leave some for me...

We've eaten here alot over the years most of the staff are friendly but it wouldn't hurt the owner to smile or say hello to customers:) we've tried curries & BBQ both are very good! it gets very busy weekends so if there's a party going I'd recommend booking, I can see how people that haven't been before get confused what you can order at bar or BBQ but once you've been u'l keep wanting to go & it isn't rocket science to order BBQ, chips or nan at the BBQ everything else at the bar.

I've been meaning to eat here for ages. A friend of mine has recommended it many times, & he's not the easiest to please.
Finally made it tonight, & what a treat. It's a cross between a cafeteria, a pub, & an Indian.
The food is super tasty, the service is quick, & the prices are very fair. I will be back.

been a long standing favourite - especially when the kids were littel. Anyway, we hadn't been for a good while so thought we'd drive over (about 40 mins away by car).
Wow! It's been done out at the BBQ end - very nice, same old favourites available plus the usual curries from the kitchen. A good evening, reminiscent of the good ol' days when we were up here a couple of times a month for any occasion with all our mates - in those days there was always an average of about 10 of us though often up to double that! We probably drank too much and made a tad of a nuiscance of ourselves... now we are all much (much) older with grown up kids of our own...
Still, brought back great memories and food just as we remembered.

This has to be one of the best places to eat in the West Midlands. Visitors are always surprised at what they find here. One of the most amusing aspects of eating at the Vine is watching peoples faces as they see what appears to be a fairly normal looking British Pub and what they find after stepping into the tardis.
This really is an experience. With a very comprehensive menu and friendly staff it is always a pleasure to eat out here. The food is without doubt very well presented and a real culinary delight. The chefs here definately know their food.
Now the Vine is not your branded posh high street restaurant. Far from it. If anything it is a bit rustic but then that only adds to the pleasure and the atmosphere of the establishment. When it comes to value for money The Vine excels again. It really is very good value for money.
I would definately recommend this restaurant. If you live in the West Midlands or are visiting the area you have to visit the Vine. This is as good as it gets!

One of my favourite places to visit a good meal with a pint...
A pub with a twist.
The food is cheap but really good quality - beats a lot of those fancy expensive restaurants out there. The menu has a lot of choice to offer, the service is quick and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

After being recommended to eat here by many of my family and friends I decided to try it out. I have got to say I was not disappointed! The indoor bbq was beautiful, the kebabs were full of flavour and spicy which is what I love. We ordered two curries between us with naans, rice and chips, perhaps we went a little overboard... wish I had enough room to eat it all it was so delicious. My boyfriend is a massive fan of indian food and he was so impressed by the place, saying it was one of the very best. I can't wait to come and dine here again, it's so cheap for the quality of the food I haven't really got an excuse!

Went as a party of 16 on Thursday evening, hadn't been in years. Not sure why as food was excellent and very good value for money. I do agree with another reviewer, that the plates could be a bit larger but not a major problem, and doesn't detract from the food! The BBQ was fab and the curry was really tasty[ had chicken taka tak]. Had 2 children with us and this wasn't a problem. Would defo recommend and will be going back very soon.

This pub is by far one of the best I have ever been in. The food is just out of this world with very generous portions. Best atmosphere is on a match day when Albion fans and opposing fans gather her for a pre-match beer, meal/BBQ. It's an added bonus that I only work around the corner so Friday lunchtimes are a must.
The only downfall, if you could call it that, is that this place is so popular that you sometimes struggle to find somewhere to sit. Being situated a stones throw from junction 1 of the M5 means that it's not hard to find so when you are next in West Brom or passing through on the M5 call in you won't regret it!
