Great place to stay. Good golf course and very good food. All staff very helpful and friendly. Recommend anybody who play's golf well worth a few days stay.

Had our wedding day here, everyone was so helpful and friendly, even you needed something they all went out there way to do it. The area is stunning and the food is delicious!

Came for Christmas day with family, 10 in total.We have been before and for Sunday lunch.It was all superb no rush, staff very friendly.For the cost it was excellent, definitely do it again.It speaks for itself she.n every table is full.You prebook starters and desserts, then a Cavery for main.No pushing 1 table is sent at a time.What can I say except none of us ate untill following lunch time.Thank you all again Happy New Year xxx

Thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Day luncheon. The carvery offered a good selection of well cooked food. We dined at 5.00pm and the staff were amazing, all friendly and offered their services with a smile.

Just returning from a Sunday carvery, table of 11. Going to be honest, we felt that the eating area was horrendously overcrowded resulting in tightly packed tables, little room to manoeuvre.
Although the carvery was okay, the service was poor. We ordered starters and after eating had to take the plates away ourselves and find waiting staff to remove.
The same thing happened after we had finished our mains: we had to ask for plates to be removed.
One waitress brought dessert menus but didn't return for the order. After 20 minutes we gave up and asked for the bill.
On reflection it seemed the priority lay in getting people through the door and seated, with no consideration for the actual dining experience.
Won't be returning.

Went here for lunch after some early Christmas shopping! Food was usual high standard and staff very good .Had beef and pork with lots of veg .Can't manage 3 courses now so just had main and dessert-- crème brulé lovely.We will return!

What a place, What a Carvery, Absolutely fantastic meal, food was piping hot, beautifully cooked to perfection, Didn't have alcohol so cant comment, The price was very reasonable as well, The Staff were very friendly, and the place was spotlessly clean, No problem recommending at all, though I'd advise you book because it gets very busy

Visited here for Sunday lunch around 4.30 ,ordered drinks had to ask again when they never arrived, had carvery lunch , was very nice , hot and tasty, we finished lunch but did not get asked if we wanted sweet menu , ordered sweet had to chase that, then waited ages for bill and decided to just go up to bar and pay.Lovely dinner but service very slow, think everyone wanted to go home !

My daughter celebrated her baby shower with afternoon tea for 24 yesterday in the conservatory it was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful, they got the dietary requirements just right for my friend and her daughter who had recently had afternoon tea at a large hotel near Lichfield and they couldn't get it right she was over the moon with the choice served to her, I had forgotten my 86 year old Mom only likes plain sandwiches no trouble the waiter went away and returned with a plate full just for her, when asked for extra sandwiches (yes we are a greedy Lot!) again no problem they appeared straight away, as it was sunny yesterday staff made sure the room was as comfortable as could be, fans were put on and doors opened to make us all comfortable even providing large jugs of ice cold water, the afternoon tea itself was a treat scones with lashings of cream and cakes to die for, we didn't manage to see all the staff before leaving yesterday but I hope the management will kindly pass on our thanks for a wonderful afternoon they did a great job and are a credit to you all, we will all be thoroughly recommending Calderfields to everyone we know, Thank you again and see you soon
