Ruby is a little girl from Pontypool who is very ill in Bristol children’s hospital suffering from Juvenile arthritis and further complications. A local community group in Torfaen based at St. John’s Church in Wainfelin, Pontypool are fundraising to help her family with travel, accommodation and everyday living.
The group has launched a Crowdfunding Campaign which explains to us about Ruby and her fight “Upsettingly one of our members/friends is severely unwell at the moment and sadly only 3 years old. We as a community group are doing all we can to help support this little girl and her family at this time of need.
Unfortunately, this dear little girl is currently in hospital and fighting for her life. We have decided to try and help raise some money in an attempt to help with the family’s financial costs of travelling to the hospital as well as over-night stays with her not being at a local hospital. This young family also have two other young children they are thinking about.
A number of local businesses have already helped us with purchasing raffle tickets and or providing us with small raffle prize donations”
Nics Gifts will be supporting #staysaferuby in the run up to Valentines Day by donating £1 to the campaign for every Valentines Mug sold. All mugs available in black or white and come gift boxed, personalisation can be added to the reverse side. The full range of designs can be found on our Facebook Page.
Nicola Jolliffe, owner of Nics Gifts said “#staysaferuby is a great local cause, and I am happy to offer my support. As a small business owner, I really appreciate the support of the local community, and it is good to be able to help”.
The community group are also holding a prize bingo fundraiser event for Ruby on Saturday 3rd February at St Johns Church Hall, Wainfelin, Pontypool. Ruby has suffered complications associated with her juvenile arthritis and has been in intensive care. Ruby is looking at a lengthy stay in hospital whilst receiving treatment. The group want to raise money for the family to take the stress off them, so they can concentrate on Ruby and not have to worry about bills, cost of accommodation and travel.
There will be a prize bingo, raffle and final tote. There have already been some fantastic prizes received off local businesses and all these will be won on the day. Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome, so please come along and support a great local cause with all proceeds donated to Ruby. Please add people to this event that can be viewed on Facebook #staysaferuby.
