Jetaways Travel Customer Service Shines Through the Clouds!

It’s certainly been an interesting and challenging month for the travel industry. Towards the end of September #RyanAir announced the cancellation of up to 50 flights a day for an expected 6 week period, and then at the beginning of October we woke to the news that #Monarch Airlines had collapsed, leaving 110,000 customers stranded at their holiday resorts sparking the UK’s biggest peacetime repatriation, and a further 750,000 told that their future bookings have been cancelled.

Thousands of customers faced lengthy call centre queues as they attempted to obtain information on their future travel plans from their travel agent, and it is in this situation when the advantages of using your local independent travel agent really come into force, as our customers are able to make fast contact with one of our friendly team who can take the pressure away from you and resolve your problems quickly. Our customers can also be reassured of our best possible service and assistance in claiming their money back associated with the Monarch collapse, as we are working closely with the CAA in order to resolve this very unfortunate situation.

It not just the large national scale situations that can cause you problems and a stressful time, leaving you in need or swift and friendly help as one of our valued customers Mr Lewis discovered on 3rd October. Mr Lewis called us at the office to say there had been an accident on the M5 and they may not make Bristol Airport in time to catch their flight to Rome. When it became definite that they would not make it, our customer care kicked into action and we were able to;

  • Quickly source a later flight departing from Bristol on the same day
  • Email the paperwork and ensure they had received this whist at the airport;  and also
  • Re-arrange the transfer to their accommodation

This ensured that their disruption was kept to a minimum, but more importantly for us at Jetaways the pressure and stress was taken away from the customer and dealt with by us on their behalf, whilst being able to keep in contact with them personally the whole time. 

On returning home the customer called to say thank-you as they had enjoyed a fantastic time, and the city sightseeing excursion we had booked for them and included in their holiday price was fantastic, which had removed the awfully lengthy queues in Vatican City.
