We were a party of 20 celebrating a family birthday. The carvery was fantastic! Great choice of meat and veg and better still, there wasn’t a ridiculous queue. Lots of dessert options, followed by teas and coffees.
It was a beautiful day so we were then able to sit out in the large garden space, enjoy an extra glass of something cold, watch all the children play football, with the odd train rumbling by. It was absolutely perfect. We will return!

First time we have been to the Allerford Inn and hopefully it won't be the last! Excellent food, the children absolutely loved the Yorkshire puddings and the adults enthused about the roast dinner and also the desserts. We did feel however, that the desserts would be better presented in nice glasses rather than the jam jars with handles!!! The restaurant was packed for Sunday Lunch but you would have to get things right as this place is in the "sticks".

The food here is very good, but it needs to be because it is in the middle of nowhere. The staff are helpful and friendly. The overall dining experience is also very good.

4 of us visited the Allerford on a Friday evening. Restaurant was very quiet and there was only us and one other table. Food was fantastic, could not fault it - takes quite a while, but you can tell it was cooked fresh. Decent value too

It was the best Sunday lunch I'd had in a long time! (And no washing up). They offer a great selection of meats & nicely cooked veg..... & lots of it! The staff were polite & attentive, our party of 8 really enjoyed our family lunch. I normally walk accross the fields to have a pint or 2 but will definately go again for the Sunday carvery! From the outset when I contacted the Allerford Inn - we were made to feel that our event was as important to them as it was to us . Questions were asked - clarifications as to menu choices and combinations not normally requested were all met superbly. The ordered Buffet food was good and copious with our requests all met well. The function room was laid out well for our event and if we had a similar event to organise could not recommend highly enough and would book again with no hesitation .

We visited on Easter Sunday whilst staying in the local area. We’d researched where to go as wanted something special unfortunately it was all just okay. It was very busy due to several large parties so when we arrived you’re not welcomed you just queue at the bar to be told your table number. It felt a bit like being in a large chain restaurant. The carvery was again okay but the meat was a bit dry, roast potatoes burnt and all the veggies a bit mushy...even my 6 year old refused the parsnips (normally a favourite) as they were “all wet”. We decided to give desert a miss as was an extra £5 and all sounded very sickly after a heavy roast.

Came here Saturday evening whilst visiting my daughter who lives round the corner, for her birthday.
Staff were very polite and attentive, food was delicious, from the starters through to the desert, the halloumi fries were to die for
It was a very quiet evening for a Saturday but to be fair the weather wasn’t the best, but there were plenty of locals drinking in the bar area.
Would highly recommend although we only visit now and again, will definitely return.

A group of 13 of us visited at the end of February and I have to say it was one of the best carverys we’ve been too. The food was delicious, the staff all looked smart and the gentleman who served us behind the bar was very friendly. The place has a great atmosphere and is well presented. As a couple we had 2 adult carverys, a medium rosé and a pint and it was around £30. Definitely worth a visit.

Booked for a quiet meal with family for a birthday. Was lovely and quiet, they just opened when we arrived. Server Dan friendly and warm, helped me choose between the steak pie and belly pork - hope you enjoyed your gravy Dan :) Well priced, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Perfect. Will be back!
