From the outset when I contacted the Allerford Inn - we were made to feel that our event was as important to them as it was to us . Questions were asked - clarifications as to menu choices and combinations not normally requested were all met superbly. The ordered Buffet food was good and copious with our requests all met well. The function room was laid out well for our event and if we had a similar event to organise could not recommend highly enough and would book again with no hesitation .

We visited on Easter Sunday whilst staying in the local area. We’d researched where to go as wanted something special unfortunately it was all just okay. It was very busy due to several large parties so when we arrived you’re not welcomed you just queue at the bar to be told your table number. It felt a bit like being in a large chain restaurant. The carvery was again okay but the meat was a bit dry, roast potatoes burnt and all the veggies a bit mushy...even my 6 year old refused the parsnips (normally a favourite) as they were “all wet”. We decided to give desert a miss as was an extra £5 and all sounded very sickly after a heavy roast.

Thank you to Tom, Ellie, and all the staff for making our wedding such a special day. We all had a great time and everyone has said how amazing the food was.
We will be recommending you to everyone we know.

Came here Saturday evening whilst visiting my daughter who lives round the corner, for her birthday.
Staff were very polite and attentive, food was delicious, from the starters through to the desert, the halloumi fries were to die for
It was a very quiet evening for a Saturday but to be fair the weather wasn’t the best, but there were plenty of locals drinking in the bar area.
Would highly recommend although we only visit now and again, will definitely return.

A group of 13 of us visited at the end of February and I have to say it was one of the best carverys we’ve been too. The food was delicious, the staff all looked smart and the gentleman who served us behind the bar was very friendly. The place has a great atmosphere and is well presented. As a couple we had 2 adult carverys, a medium rosé and a pint and it was around £30. Definitely worth a visit.

Booked for a quiet meal with family for a birthday. Was lovely and quiet, they just opened when we arrived. Server Dan friendly and warm, helped me choose between the steak pie and belly pork - hope you enjoyed your gravy Dan :) Well priced, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Perfect. Will be back!

Visited last Friday in a group of six and again this evening, just the two of us. The new spring menu has arrived, retaining the popular classics but changing around some of the others. Both nights I had the new belly pork addition with bubble and squeak and it is an absolute triumph! Beautifully cooked, flavoursome, tender, moist meat that falls apart, with fantastic crackling that you can cut, eat and enjoy without risking your teeth! I’ve been to other places and been disappointed with belly pork that came as an inch wide sliver which was mainly fat but you won’t be disappointed at the Allerford with a very generous serving of meat with just the right thin layer of fat you need for flavour.
I would implore people to try this place, the food is excellent and reasonably priced, the cellar is well kept, the team are fantastic and you won’t be disappointed.
