Superb, when you fail to get a table in 1 of Taunton's top 3 then this is the place. Yes its a pub in tbe middle of nowhere but the food is worth the effort of going there.

We came in recently for Sunday lunch and were absolutely blown away.
First of all, the place is gorgeous and very well kept and gets very busy so booking for Sunday is a must.
The carvery was incredible, easily the best I’ve had at a pub in years (possibly ever!)
A choice of pork, beef or turkey all of which were cooked to perfection.
All the accompaniments were homemade including the Yorkshire puddings and stuffing. There was a massive choice of vegetables, roast potatoes, dauphinois, parsnips, creamed cabbage that was so good even my toddler ate it!
The value was incredible, £10 for adults, £5 for children, I really couldn’t believe the price for the quality, I would have happily paid double.
It’s a bit of a trek from home but we will definitely be making the trip much more now we know what a gem it is.

Visited the allerford on many occasions. We have been as a couple and in large groups. The main menu food is absolutely beautiful but their carvery is out of this world!!

Went here after reading the reviews for a Sunday carvery. Got there for 12 O'clock and plenty of room in large car park but when we came out it was rammed so suggest you go early. Nice warm welcome from all staff. Good selection for carvery, three different meats and you can choose two with very good variety of vegetables. All tasty but my only disappointment was it could all have done with being hotter, which I note another reviewer also mentioned previously. I will go back and give it another try as I like the location, the pub and the friendly atmosphere and hopefully can give an excellent review then.

My friend and I stopped in this pub mid week solely because of the gluten free menu which is absolutely fantastic so we decided to bring the family on Sunday to try out the carvery.
Very descent portion of beautiful tender beef and great crackling on the pork. Lots of veg to choose from and my friend could eat everything except for yorkies
As a chef of nearly 30 yrs and my husband who is a 2 rosette chef we can always find something that is not to either of our professional taste but I can truly say there was nothing we didn't like, and we even booked a family event before left, so high praise indeed. Keep up the good work and our thanks to all the staff for your wonderful service

Eight of us had a wonderful meal here, all home cooked and everyone complimented their meal which we asked to be passed on to the chef. Desserts were good too. The menu has a good range of options. We had a bit of trouble finding staff to take our order for main course and desserts initially and wondered if they were a bit overstretched however this is a very small issue and we would all highly recommend this wonderful pub for ambience, location and best if all - fabulous home made food, thank you.

Having joy visited The Allerford for a few years we decided to give it a go with family visiting. It was a Friday night on our visit and we where very surprised to find the pub almost completely empty!
The food was superb and very well priced same with the drinks. We ordered a mixture of scampi and chips and fish and chips along with starters, all of which where very tasty.
The service was brilliant, the waitress was very patient as we took a while to make our mind up.
Only problem was the atmosphere, the pub was completely empty which I found very strange.

Only stopped for a drink after a day a work. Not bad. Appears geared up for food more than a place you may choose just for a relaxing drink. Cant say I'd go out of my way to go back. Not outstanding really.

Having visited here for both dinner and lunch on several occasions we decided to give the Sunday carvery a go. There was a good selection of veg, including dauphinois potatoes and a choice of meats. Overall it was a good meal but not as great as the previous meals we have had here. We’ll definitely be back but probably order off the regular menu. Highly recommend saving room for dessert too, they’re amazing!

We booked online for a table of 6 adults and one child. This was easy and clear to do. The adults all had the carvery. There was a good selection of vegetables and 2 meats. The only downside was that the food wasn’t very hot and the plates were cold. And we were booked in for 12pm. ( so it wasn’t like we were at the end of the service.)
We will book again and hope it was a one off today.
