Been here twice in the last few weeks, once for an all you can eat breakfast, which I have to say was bloody excellent, very good selection of fried food and a decent selection of pastries and fruit, would definitely recommend the breakfast. The second time was for the carvery, which I have to say I was very disappointed with, potatoes were under cooked as was most of the veg. Meat was decent, I had beef and pork which were both OK, there was NO crackling left, even tho they had 1 and a half joints still under the heating lamp, neither of which had any crackling on, surely the people not having pork should not be allowed crackling in my eyes anyway. The service was very poor, on 2 or 3 separate occasions the staff were behind the bar laughing whilst on their phones, all this whilst ours plates were on the table festering and begging to be collected, it took over 30 minutes after we had finished eating for the plates to be cleared away, and then another 10 minutes for them to ask if we would like to see the pudding menu. The wrong menus were given to us and when the correct ones were delivered and we had decided what to have we were the informed that there was no Fish and chips which 3 people had decided to have, and were then disappointed to be told there was no fish. We were also given the wrong kids menus, and having an autistic grandchild being told that the cheese burger wasn't available today when its on the menu we were given wasnt great. Pudding eventually were served and were good. I personally think there are better carvery/roasts in the area, so probably won't return for the carvery. Drinks came out and were wrong, and we were charged for an extra pepsi. Also ordered an extra kids pizza and chips that came out and was luke warm at best. Another kids pizza and chips was ordered for our autistic grandson but without chips as he won't eat them, the pizza arrived and came with chips, luckily we removed the chips before he'd seem them as he would of had a meltdown if he'd seen them on his plate.

I would definitely recommend the breakfast here, but certainly not the carvery.

Food was good after a 50min wait. Service was a bit slow and they were not busy.

We have just had a lovely meal today.The service was lovely our server was Matilda she was lovely very helpful,to the extend of putting a candle in my daughters pudding as it was her birthday.It was a lovely exprience an would recomend the Allerford to go for food an atmosphere.All staff where friendly just wanted to mention Matilda by name as she was our server so thankyou all for a lovely exprience.

Nice oldie atmosphere, good inner decor. It was a quiet night but the room was reasonably sized. Would be good for a family or group get together.

Had we known they had a wedding we would never have booked. The food was average for a pub but having to wait in a cold drafty room for almost 2 hours for our food was disappointing. Even the free drinks didn't help. We were disappointed when we asked how long desserts would take, we were told we couldn't have any.
We had heard good things about this pub. All I can say is the staff were nice.

Run out of food, all you can eat buffet wings and things. Staff were friendly. Not sure I'd waste my money going again.

Came out with family as first time out since major reconstructive surgery, had a great welcome staff was very polite, the waitress was very helpful and polite great carvery and great value for money

Amazing place and has got something for everyone.

Nice lunch, a quiet day so little atmosphere, staff were pleasant but we felt we were rattling around as it is huge. This place deserves more custom as it must be tough to make any money with so few customers. Good luck!

I'd read a lot of good things about this pub so decided to give it a try for lunch. The ciabattas were very good. Excellent chips!! There was only one other table occupied so a little quiet. Lovely garden, so I'm sure we'll be back when we get some warm weather.

Fantastic carvery, 3 choices of meat and plenty of choice of vegetables
Homemade Yorkshire pudding.
The only thing that let the food down were the roast potatoes.
Great selection of desserts.
Drinks are a little pricey here, but great selection of beers and ciders.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
They can't do enough for you.
As with most carverys, you end up loading your plate and presentation looks awful
You will definitely need to book here for a Sunday carvery.
This is a definite most try if you haven't been here.

The Allerford hosted a suprise party for my partner and everything was top notch, from planning with the manager to the food and staff on the night.
Everyone had such a great time and the buffet was fairly priced and the quality was a hot topic during the party.
Thank you to all the staff for an amazing experience.

Busy Mothers day so a bit noisy but as expected, the carvery food was good and plentiful.

Went here for a All you can Eat night. We went when it was the mexican Night. Oh wow!! Delicious 😋 it's that's great we've booked to go again in a month time. Definitely one for the calendar if you have t been already!
Staff are super friendly, chatty and helpful. Would highly recommend going.

Popped in for lunch, warm welcome, very good food, probably worth booking during winter months as, although has outdoor seating/benches a bit chilly ! Would imagine gets busy during warmer/summer months. Close (10 mins drive) to Taunton centre. Recommended

Carvery was bang on. All the meat was well cooked, roasties were crispy and there was cauli cheese and potato gratin. Not just boiled veg. Highly recommend.

Carvery ok, Indoor space very plain, large outdoor space probably great in summer.
