We went to watch Coldplace, who are the worlds best tribute band to Coldplay. They are extremely talented and sound exactly like Coldplay. On arrival we were greeted by nice, friendly, young staff who took us to our seats. All the staff were patient and knew when to collect plates ( when everyone has finished) For the buffet there was four main dishes to choose from with salad, garlic bread, roast potatoes and rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and it would put other places to shame. It was really nice after everyone had finished eating when the room was lit by candlelight.DJ Dave Lee was great and had all the talent a DJ needs.
Overall and outstanding night

I have eaten here many times over the years and it is consistently good. Our last visit for lunch last week was no exception. The staff are great and we had a lovely table overlooking the course. There is a choice of menus, one from the bar, or the restaurant. We mixed it up and had a variety of dishes, ranging from all day breakfast to roast of the day. All hot and tasty.
The puddings are always a hit with my elderly friends, the selection and quality cannot be faulted.
Haute cuisine this is not, but homely well cooked food at a decent price cannot be faulted.

Went with a Christmas party of 50, we were in a nice meeting room, friendly staff but food disappointing. Thai fish cakes very salty, chicken with goats cheese was dry meat and tasteless cheese, while veg. was crunchy. Dessert was unusual and good though veeery sweet. This was second year of going, was equally disappointed by food the first time but felt deserved another go. I would put it level with 'Two Meals for One' eateries, perhaps a little below.

I booked my birthday party to be held at Oake Manor Golf Club and organised catering for 100 people when I met with the manager. He made a very sly comment about me organising my own party and it not being a surprise but I didn't rise to it. I found his manner and professional skills were somewhat lacking, as I knew what to expect having worked in the same trade a few years ago. I put it down to him having a bad day and looked forward to the party.
On the actual evening this manager did not welcome me as I arrived to decorate the room, offer us drinks or even give a general breakdown of the evening. He merely muttered 'alright' when my guests were serving themselves some food. When it came to settling the bill he added on corkage charge to bottles of wine that we had bought over the bar. He had a definite case of short man syndrome.
The dj On the other hand was cracking, attentive to the guests and played great tunes with fantastic interaction.

Have been to Oake before on theme nights and found the food to be average at best( a cavery type affair) so was a little reluctant to go on new year. However as friends were going we were persuaded.

I was pleasantly surprised- they had seated probably around 300 people in various size groups and the food was all served to the table, 4 courses including a beautifully cooked rib eye steak( how they managed 300 medium rare steaks is amazing).

Wine was reasonable £12 for an ok red- bar is too small though for large events like this

All in all a good experience this time- would i go again it was the carvery? probably not

A visit to restuarant for lunch.

After a visit to dentist that morning I needed a light meal and chose omlette.
A good selection of fillings was offered. price is dependent on number of fillings. Also offered were chips and/or salad. On the photo of meal are the chips for two people.
The dinning room is comfortable and clean. Staff freindly and attentive.
There are menu boards which I have photographed. Notice the offers of two for one. For an individual dining alone the meals would be expensive. Eg cod and chips nearly £14.
I also like the freshly squeezed orange juice. But today this was served from a jug.

Having had several carvery meals on a Sunday here with the family, you cannot fault the very attentive young staff, nothing's to much trouble for them to help you out. the food is always top quality & you will have a job to better it in the area, & always clean & tidy everywhere....Malcolm

Very attractive course with plenty of water features and little bridges. Wide open fairways make loss of ball rare except if caught in water hazard. Very good catering.

This was not the place for us at all. It felt very dated. We were rushed through our Sunday lunch and the quality of the food was nothing special. The staff were pleasant enough, but the whole experience was very bland. We won't be returning.

We went for Father's day carvery following favourable trip advisor reviews and the restaurant met all expectations. Lovely setting, excellent friendly service and tasty carvery. Very good value for money. A lot of the waiting staff looked very young but they were still so professional and efficient I was really impressed. We will definately come again soon.

was invited for a day out at oake manor for £50 to include bacon baps, 19 holes, soup and sandwiches, another 10 holes (team event) and then a 2 course supper. The breakfast was basic but tasty with free tea and coffee, lunch was plentiful..lots of chips, the evening meal was perfect after a day of golf, staff were helpful and was presented. oake manor are do a massive marketing drive at the momeny with visiting acts and tribute bands, there were tables all laid out for hundreds it was a shame we couldnt stay longer and soak up the atmosphere. thanks oake manor. great job

The carvery at Oake is second to none and their function nights can also be recommended. We've had work Christmas parties here in the last few years, taken my elderly parents out for Sunday lunch and attended tribute band nights at other times of the year. And each time we've thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food is good and the service is extremely slick. It's far more than a golf club!

The restaurant is part of the central building of the Golf Club which non-playing members of the public may freely use.
The menu is soldily English, though special events may be catered for. Carvery is
available and the restaurant is very popular for Sundays and calendar events such as Valentines, Mothering Sunday, Fathers Day, Easter, Christmas and New Year.
Staff are usually cheery and helpful and handle large numbers. Parties are well catered for.
Parking is copious and access easy from Taunton and neighbouring towns and villages.

You know you are on a golf course the minute you turn into Oake Manor. You drive past the 10th and through the 11th holes before parking.

Staff were friendly and welcoming to a single player on what was a very busy few days for them. They got me a tee time albeit mid afternoon, they arranged a couple of lessons with no fuss, and generally were extremely nice.

The course itself had recently had some work done on the greens so they weren't perfect but it didn't spoil an excellent course. Some water but not hugely frightening. Very tempting on the 6th hole, my favourite on the course.

If you are in the area, don't miss out on the opportunity. You won't be sorry.

Oh, and the lessons really helped too. Ian, their resident pro, knew exactly how to pitch the advice. I wish he lived closer to me.
