A specialist plant centre played Santa Claus by delivering early presents to Shrewsbury Town Football Club to ensure that players and staff have a tree-mendous run up to Christmas.

Love Plants, based at Salop Leisure’s Shrewsbury headquarters, captured the growing festive mood by donating four Nordmann Fir Christmas trees for the Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium.

Players Joshua Emmanuel and Omar Beckles, who are hoping for a good run in the Sky Bet League One over the busy festive season, were waiting at the stadium to accept the trees from Love Plants’ assistant manager Heather Evans and Salop Leisure’s marketing manager Ed Glover.

Love Plants is preparing for a busy December with sales of Christmas trees, wreaths, decorations and plants. Meanwhile, parent company Salop Leisure is pulling out all the stops with an exciting festive programme, which includes a skating rink, Santa’s Grotto, afternoon teas with Santa and a Santa Dash for charity.
