Have just about recovered from my night out in Shrewsbury. It's the lack of sleep that gets me more than anything, and when my daughter banged on the spare room door at 6.30am I was less than chipper.... The Salopian on Smithfield Road was as fun and friendly as ever, although one of my friends found the 8% Belgian beers too hard to resist. He woke up with a splitting headache, an inflatable guitar and some toy bullets.
Can anyone recommend some other great non-chain pubs in central Shrewsbury? One that does a good line in food would be ideal. If so, please click here.
I'd like to welcome Oswestry Freefighters onboard. This Shropshire MMA club is ideally located for Shrewsbury, Wrexham and (of course) Oswestry. Head Instructor is Morgan Nunns, who has over 15 years' experience cross-training within Martial Arts. His Shropshire MMA classes are relaxed and fun but boy do you get a workout! So they are perfect for those who want to improve their fitness levels. Some of the students do take part in MMA competitions but there's no pressure.
