Record breaking trade was reported at the recent Shrewsbury Flower Show by Love Plants, a specialist plants centre in the town.

Manager Tim Robinson said the company sold more plants on the first day of the show than on both days of the popular event last year.

“We had some really good deals on plants during the show which encouraged both existing and new customers to buy from our stand,” he added. “We even had people approaching us for plant advice, which was pleasing to see.

“It was a great show all round and definitely worth all the hard work setting up our large stand.”

The Love Plants shop and showpiece garden at the show was in a prime location at the top of Gloucester Avenue, opposite the Members’ Tent.

Mr Robinson also reported a record year for the business, which is based at caravan and motorhome dealership Salop Leisure’s Emstrey headquarters.

He believes the recent opening of the Love2Stay glamping and touring caravan resort alongside the business has resulted in more customers shopping at Love Plants.
