A local legal firm is celebrating after one of its Partners successfully obtained a qualification dedicated to strengthening their expertise in leadership and management.

Rachael Hughes, Managing Partner of Shropshire-based PCB Solicitors has secured a Post Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice Management from Manchester Metropolitan University’s Business School.

The certificate, which is aimed at individuals who run legal practices, helps to strengthen management skills with a view to distinguishing themselves from the competition, benefiting from innovative thinking, as well as stronger skill sets. The invigorating course programme enables strategic thinking and provides tools to help firms thrive in a market which has undergone seismic change.

Rachael Hughes explained: “I am absolutely delighted to have passed the Certificate in Legal Practice Management with a merit, which I undertook on a part-time basis over the past 10 months. I have been a Partner at PCB Solicitors for over 13 years and Managing Partner for 11 years. The course was a great way to strengthen my knowledge and ensure I was up-to-date with the ever-changing legal landscape.

From developing and implementing strategy, to financial and people management, the course encourages attendees to develop a strategic management perspective, enhance communication skills, and ensures their company has a competitive advantage, and ultimately, which thrives.

“We actively encourage and support training and development at PCB, and this is something I am pleased to lead by example, and demonstrate that constant training is really important in order to provide clients with a first class service. As a qualified solicitor, the certificate enabled me to expand my business knowledge and encourage an alternative approach when running the company. I look forward to using my new skills to continue to grow the practice and support and inspire our team of fantastic solicitors,” she concluded.
