Romantic partners who splash out on touring caravan, caravan holiday home or motorhome for their loved ones on Valentine’s Day are in for a special treat at Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury.

Everyone who buys a model from the award-winning caravan and motorhome dealership at Emstrey on Friday will be entered into a draw to win a romantic weekend break in a luxury glamping lodge at the Love2Stay resort in Shrewsbury.

Salop Leisure’s chairman Tony Bywater said it was not unusual for men to buy their partners a caravan or motorhome on Valentine’s Day. He remembered on one occasion delivering a caravan on a lorry to a very surprised but elated wife in Wellington.

The company has even had couples propose in a caravan on February 14.

“What a wonderfully, romantic gesture and gift for a man to buy their wife or partner or Valentine’s Day?” he added. “With staycationing predicted to increase in the UK in 2020, we are expecting a very busy day on Friday and the rest of the year.”

As 2020 is a leap year, Mr Bywater is also anticipating that some women might follow tradition and propose to their partner on February 29. He says a romantic break in a caravan or motorhome would be the ideal time to pop the question.

Salop Leisure is running a VIP sales event from Thursday, February 13 to Sunday, February 16. Prospective buyers who may not have received an invitation are advised to contact Salop Leisure on Tel: 01743 282400 to make an urgent appointment.

Demand for caravans and motorhomes has been very buoyant in the first weeks of the new year, with Salop Leisure reporting 10 sales of caravan holiday homes following appointments made at the Caravan and Motorhome Show at Event City, Manchester last month.

And a first time buyers event for caravan holiday homes and luxury lodges on January 25 and 26 proved such a success that it is going to be repeated from February 28 to March 1.

“We are definitely seeing more first time buyers in the market so far this year, which is great news for the UK tourism industry,” added Mr Bywater.
