I spoke with Richard Hennen based in the Andover office today (6th February 2024).
My enquiry was to do with car insurance as Howdens already deal with my house and contents insurance.
Richard was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, polite, professional and I could see that he really wanted to help me in getting a good outcome for my car insurance. I am so pleased that I dealt with Richard today so thank you.

The person i spoke to a Mr Peter Bolton about changing over my insurance to a new vehicle was spot on , he made very easy for me to under stand . I would recommend this insurance broker any body.

Excellent and thorough service - however as we hold all our insurance policies with Holden’s - just to change our address cost a fee for each policy which then added up to a couple of hundred pounds. This makes insuring through one insurance agency less of a good idea than when Howden was Aplan insurance. We did complain, we did get an immediate response with some money back, and this was also very professionally done.

Pawel Sinilo has just taken me through the process of insuring our first camper van. Was very nervous given the value of the vehicle. He was very helpful and knowledgeable in asking about the van and the spec to ensure everything was taken into account in order to find a comprehensive cover that met our requirements. We already have our car and campervan with Howdens, so when my mum asked me to sort out her house insurance I gave them a call. I spoke to Carley who was kind and sensitive about the whole thing. My dad had passed away so it was upto my mum to change home insurance details over. Carley was lovely right from the start, going through the whole thing with us very patiently and professionally. She made it easy to sort out and easy to understand. I will continue to recommend Howdens (formally A plan) as they have always been great to communicate with when sorting insurance out for us.

James Mallieu has looked after our car insurance for quite some time for both my mother and me. He is very knowledgeable, always very professional and very helpful (even for last minute requests). His communication skills are excellent and he always reminds you of a renewal without pestering. I first contacted him (At A1 Insurance) because he had been recommended by a friend. I have subsequently recommended him to a number of people. The reason that I have stayed with your company (Howden) is purely down to James.
