During the last few days I have renewed both my home and car insurance through Howdens, Sutton Coldfield. In both instances I spoke with Cecile. I rate her performance as excellent. Cecile was very courteous and friendly and explained everything in detail without in any way rushing me. Her extensive knowledge of the products she was discussing with me demonstrated a high level of professionalism. Importantly I was very happy with the prices she was able to get me for both home and car insurance. The car insurance in particular was much lower than I was expecting (so very happy). Cecile is a great representative of her company and it was a pleasant experience dealing with her and Howdens.

This is no reflexion on Howden as a company, but my insurance has cost me, £150 more this year & I have made no claims.As a 74 year old pensioner this seems very Unfair.Alex at Woking branch has always been straight with me for years when it was,A-plan.He is still someone I trust, & he explained reasons for increase which although I under stand, felt let down as a loyal customer, can only put it down to change from A-plan, shame.

To be able to go in and talk with a real human being who has a sense of what you’re after for insurance - and also a sense of humour without making you feel rushed is wonderful! I turned up 10mins before they closed and they kindly stayed open for 25mins after their official shutting time to help me get my car insurance.

I can’t fault the helpful staff but the price increase of 23% was too high,
After getting quotes from other companies and speaking to Howdon again they dropped the price and i stayed with them, would’ve saved a lot of time if realistic in the first place.

Howden's forerunner A Plan had been our broker for many years, so stayed put. It is only a name change. Have been pro-active and suited our needs.
