Howden?
I started my long term relationship as a Plan A, born out of experience.
I started insurance with Life Insurance, then car and so on.
Initially I used the small local broker, then following modern fashion, direct with insurance companies via the Internet - “ a fools paradise for insurance”.
Why?
Insuring via a competent broker puts you, the customer, in control via your assured, contracted broker that has your back.
Your broker is contracted to press your case for compensation.
A large broker -such has Howden has leverage necessary to get, in your behalf, the best price possible (call it bulk buying).
The many benefits we have enjoyed by using Howden (previously A Plan) have repeatedly given us the best (lowest prices) for assured cover AND most importantly they made a normally complicated legitimate recovery of sums assured easy.
Just said “ please help us” and left the rest to Howden.
So, why are they so good?
They are staffed by well educated, trained and committed people. They are distributed across the country so you can just pop in.
Me? I use Bath and Bromsgrove and I don’t look anywhere else. I’ve developed professional/customer relationships with the long serving staff.
Why write this?
I just happen to be in a good mood because my car insurance has not increased in price this year for the same cover, Howden found the new (to me) insurance company.
Do what you like, I don’t mind. Just going to have a “free”glass of wine or 2 paid for my insurance saving quote.
Come to think of it, we might eat out.
Go, on, try them out and raise a glass to yourselves.

Always a great deal on any oddball vehicle. I've had two vans now both with some modifications and I have not been able to get a reasonable quotation through any of the normal comparison websites.
