I've been using Howden in Hall Green (formerly A-plan Insurance) for years for my car and home insurance.
The customer service is exemplary and I can honestly say that every person I've ever spoken to in that office is genuinely customer-centric and an expert in their insurance area.
It's a tough market given the price rises, but Howden are usually successful in beating or matching comparable online offers, plus you have piece of mind knowing that in the unfortunate event you need to claim, you'll have the support of an expert at the end of the phone or face to face. Honestly, give them a try!

What a refreshing change to be able to call into an office and speak to an expert. We had a simple home insurance and more complex home insurance to arrange and it was all sorted without fuss and we got exactly what we needed.

I was recommended to you by a neighbor down the road from me. My then car insurer who had been with me some years, kept jacking up the their rate mechanistically and in my opinion with no relation to my ow risk; I had never made a claim, I was a low milage car user, car on my own property when parked,I didn't need any special treatment in the event of a claim, but still the premium climbed. I thought time for a punt on a change to a broker who could search for a more appropriate risk/cost balance for my situation. Happy I did, saved £77. A shout out for Bethany Powell in swindon(Wiltshire) who was extremely polite and patient.
