How difficult could it be to buy insurance for a motorhome? Took me nearly a week and after receiving several quotes and various calls from brokers, settled on Howden's. The agent Charlie was personable and built up a rapour rather than pushing a sale. Although they were not the best priced, I was comfortable giving them my business and felt that any issues or aftersales would be handled swiftly.

Recently had to get insurance for my son's J1000 rally car. I was expecting a horrendous quote and difficulties with all the modifications (roll cage, fire extinguisher, FIA seats, harnesses, suspension etc). I did not get that at all. I dealt with Charles at the Thatcham branch who listened to the long list of modifications, and the purpose of the insurance.
It took a bit longer, but I got a very reasonable price for fully comprehensive insurance, guaranteed value of the car and all modifications including decals covered.
Was impressed with the price and Charles who was very good to deal with and understood what I was looking to insure and made it an easy process.

Can only comment on the taking out of the insurance because that is my only experience. You deal with a human, face to face, if you go in the office or you speak to a human when phoning. So fed up with chatbots, AI and call centres with dodgy lines and accents that are difficult to understand. It's about time the industry started to take note of the frustration their cheap rate customer service systems are causing. More companies like Howden are needed. Their price was the same as my renewal quote from previous insurer. It is the quality of service that is important.

Brilliant Service. Spoke to Louise @ Howden could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Great to actually speak to a human, who you can explain your requirements to. In future I will always go back to Louise @ Howden.
