I had a bad experience with a call centre insurance company last year. It left me very suspicious and unhappy about insurance companies. I thought that as A Plan were local, it would be better for me to deal with them. At that time we were allowed to go into the branch here in Taunton ( pre lockdown). It was an altogether different experience. I was treated with great respect from very professional staff.
This month I was called and asked if I would like to renew my insurance. Although the quotes are not the cheapest, I have learnt to my peril that price is not the most important thing when dealing with car insurance particularly. This company are extremely professional and helpful. I have also taken out contents insurance for our property.

i went to A-plan following recommendations from my car club and they do know and understand out of the ordinary cars which was obvious the first time i phoned them. At renewal time i thought the renewal was a little high compared to others in the club with the same car and compared to fresh quotes. After a couple of minuets on the phone this was brought more into line and adjusted so i renewed straight away,i do want to stay with this company if possible.

I was contacted well ahead of the renewal date and in assessing my demands and needs the options were clearly explained. Whilst I agreed with the renewal offer to move to another insurer it wasn’t just the premium but other favourable terms as well. The correct set documents were promptly dispatched which I checked and filed. I was pleased with the service provided by A-plan.

We were called to remind us for our house insurance and the advisor was chatting about car insurance and came up with a quote which was considerably cheaper than my current insurance with the same level of benefits. My husband has also asked them to contact him when his insurance is due to see if they can offer him a better quote. It was all very easy and quickly dealt with very efficiently.

So far - great service. Just didn’t give the fifth star as never had to claim yet. They are good at selling you policies. If we had to claim that’s when you test if they are good at what they do. Arranging, settling and fighting your corner when it’s needed.
