We have used Aplan, now Howden, for many years for both home and car insurance, and found the quotes competitive while meeting our needs. Just as important , if not more so, we have found the staff extremely professional and knowledgable, providing a clear explanation of the insurance product on offer.
I visited the Basingstoke branch to renew our house and car policies and met with Alicia. Together we reviewed our current policies and the suggested alternatives were applicable. I was pleased to find the overall cost to be reduced while maintaining the level of cover required.
As an aside, I’m hard of hearing, and I was surprised, and impressed, to find they have a ‘quiet room’ should you need it.

We have used Howden Insurance for 30 years (formerly Aplan) and have always been extremely satisfied. We mainly use the Evesham branch and all of the staff go over and above to ensure we receive the best service and the insurance is what meets our needs.

I have just purchased a new car so needed to arrange for the insurance. Spoke to Jack who from the start was helpful friendly and explained everything that I needed to know. Being able to speak to someone over the phone makes it a lot easier and also for you to understand the legality. I have used Howden for a while now and would recommend them any time.

I needed specific ' help' with renewing my house insurance. There had been a small 'heave' issue 18 years ago & it was ALWAYS classed as ' Subsidence ' . I felt I needed to actually speak to someone about this . I'd used APlan 8 years ago for both my daughters first car insurance. So I decided to call in to the office again. SO HAPPY that I did . Miranda went above and beyond to help me . She patiently listened and then began researching the Insurance companies to cover my home . Great results , all my queries answered and my House Insurance renewed , at a great price too . Being able to sit there and go through each question, rather than on the phone ,was a massive reassurance for me too. Brilliant service . Thank you Miranda and all the team at Howdens .
